One of the audio shops I managed years ago was a "one stop custom shop" where we did a lot of stuff, including detailing. I did everything there; detailing, audio/security/video, tint, accessory installation, etc.

Just wondering!:Handshake:

My grandparents owned a dealership years ago, which is how my dad got into cars. So, naturally he taught ME how to clean paint. I used to detail cars of family friends for money in college and I was pretty cheap! I didn't use any power tools because I was broke as hell, prolly did 4-5 coats of cleaner, polish, wax BY HAND! Did alotta cool cars tho...porsches, jags, maserati's, ferarri's....and you KNOW I drove those mofos around before they picked em up! :D

I hate detailing.

I enjoy the hell out of it. It's one of those things in life that gives me therapy...and I love it even more now that I can afford power-tools!

i used to do it for a living when i was 19 and on my own, now it is one of my favorite past times. I have thought of doing it on the side again though

I put out fliers in my neighborhood. A couple people called and i cleaned their car, they liked the job i did so they told their friends and they told their friends and so on. Word of mouth is helpful.

how did you guys get started.

alot of times when i'm in front of my house washing the car, people who are walking by or whatever will always say to me " hey do you want to do mine next?" one of these days i should take them up on it and make a few extra bucks

Actually, not true. And not all tunnel washes have brushes as most people think.
I know they dont all have brushes some are touch less which dont cause swirls. the ones with brushes are almost guaranteed to cause them though.
