I decided I did enough to do a build thread. I'm getting picture requests and what not in my other threads. I recently bought a 2008 Sonoma Red Metallic GMC Yukon SLT. I was trading in my 2wd drive Silverado for a full sized 4wd SUV. I have been wanting one and I went for it. It had a little over 46000 miles on it so I pulled the trigger.

My ride has changed a lot since I got it earlier this year. I'll start with some original pics.

I bought the truck because of it low miles and 4wd ability. I wanted these 22"wheels off so I ordered some All black 20" Mamba M13's for their decent price and the -12 offset. I wanted the wheels to poke out a little and I knew I was eventually going to put a lift on it so that is why I went with the wheels. I used factory tire size and had minor rubbing with them but, it wasn't too bad.

Next, I went with a black Denali style grill with a black GMC emblem because I did not like the factory grill and all the chrome. Found those on ebay. I used plasti dip on the upper section and around the edges of the grill to match. Also plasti dipped the GMC as well.

Next thing I did was change the puddle lights, license plate lights, and interior dome lights all to LED's. I went to http://www.superbrightleds.com/ to find the lights I needed.

I bought a bull bar with the idea of protecting the front end a little bit. I went with a Westin Black bull bar. I loved the lines as it almost mirrors the grill. That same weekend I bought the bull bar, I took it on an off road trail and had a blast.

A couple of weeks after the bull bar, I had my CCM leveling kit installed with 295/55r20 Nitto Trail Grapplers installed. Along with the leveling Kit, I also had Bilstein 5100 Shocks and Moog Heavy Duty Springs installed together. My SLT came with the smooth ride suspension and it was not compatible with the leveling kit. The Nivomat shocks do all the work so a light spring is installed. By replacing the shocks only the rear end would sag and would cause terrible and unsafe handling issues. I put the Moog equivalent of Z71 springs on all four corners to fix this.

Finally, I added LED fog lights from http://www.vleds.com and a 20 inch LED light bar from http://www.roughcountry.com/20-inch-led-light-bar-70020.html. I used a Rigid Industries 3" tube mount kit to mount it on the bull bar. Had to drill out the mount because the screws for the rough country light are larger than Rigid's light bars.

Led fogs on:

With light bar:

From driver point of view with out fogs or light bar:

With fogs:

It adds very good light to the ground in front and to the side of my truck. I don't even use high beams anymore and I don't get flashed either.

With the LED bar:

That adds a copious amount of light for off roading.

Well that's it for now. I'm mainly done for now with the big stuff. Might add some other things here and there later on. Thanks for looking at my thread.
