Hey guys, just an inquiry.
I have a 2012 Z71 4wd Tahoe and just recently took OFF a Supreme Suspensions kit I had purchased on put on the truck back in May of 2013. It was a 3.5" in the front & 2" in the back. After reading this forum and many other reviews, as well as talking to the wife of the shop owner that installed this kit (she has an 07 tahoe with the same kit on it). I was under the impression it was perfectly safe for my vehicle!
HOWEVER, the one thing I didn't do that I've seen everyone do was to put on larger tires. While body work and installing kits isn't my forte, I'm wondering if this is where my issue is.
Since I have a work car, my Tahoe has become a secondary vehicle and I haven't driven much over 1000 miles since the kit was installed. But, in the last month before it was removed I noticed a terrible vibration through the pedal (the equivalent of driving on the rumble strips) every time I accelerated about 65 MPH. It was a bother and made interstate driving miserable. After taking it to my local dealership since it was under warranty, the initially said the "tires were out of balance" (I do NOT like my local dealership or any of the people that work there) even though my instincts lead me to the drive shaft. Finally after going back and heavily complaining and having several others look at it, they really LOOKED at my car and paid attention to what the issue might be.
Sure enough, I was having the vibrations due to a change in the drive shaft angle. Where was this change from? My Supreme Suspensions kit! I took it back to the original installers of the kit, who said they've installed "hundreds" of these kits and not had these issues, but that upon further investigation, that was exactly the problem in mine--then, I had to pay to have the sucker removed :|.
It's been a rather frustrating time.
Has anyone else had this problem with these kits? Is the reason I did because I left my stock 265s on the vehicle?
My poor Tahoe looks awful back at stock level, and I'm pretty upset this supposedly "amazing kit" turned out to be wreaking havoc on my new truck!
In the end, it may be okay that I removed the kit since I'm sadly to the point of having to sell my truck since the minimal amount of time I get to drive it + the payment on it every month doesn't make it very feasible to keep
I will try and post pics of the truck soon.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
