Welcome to the forum!!! You're probably pretty new here, you're probably pretty new to your tahoe/yukon/escalade/escahoe/???. That's awesome, you're welcome here.

Your rear windows won't roll down all the way because the wheel wells push too far into the door to allow the windows to roll down farther than they do. It isn't a child safety feature. This is pretty much the first question people ask when they get here, too. So here you go. Welcome to the forum!!!

YaYa, laugh it up, now try to explain that to two 7yr old boys who are wondering why in Daddy's new truck their windows don't go down. Concepts like wheel wells are foreign to them. All they know is that they can't see, because the windows are tinted dark and they want them down.

BTW, when my boys asked my wife, she came to me and asked me.... sigh...:emotions122:

LOL........women seem to make the problem worse sometimes rather than help the situation. I hate the whole GO ASK YOUR DAD spill.

Damn, ya got me. I knew they didn't, but thought someone had a fix for them to go down a bit more.

I could care less though, I'm always driving or shotgun...and the dogs are waaay in the back with a petnet dividing 'em. Good enough airflow for me. :)

Are there any other yukon/tahoe/surburban models/years that have the split window (where 3/4 would go down all the way - like many other cars/SUVs) that is the same size/shape door as a 1996 Yukon? Looking for options other than a hammer! That is the most hated design with the car!

Are there any models/years of Yukon/Tahoe/Surburban rear doors that fit a 1996 yukon, with the split window design, where the part of the wheel well is fixed? Looking for solutions other than a hammer! That's the worst design on the car!
