You will get many opinions on this topic. It depends on if you have emissions to.
I have Thorley Tri-y headers, 50 state legal comes with everything you need for installation and most of all, you dont have to modify anything, they bolt up to your exsisting system.
Now, if I were to do it all over again, I'd go with LTs. Weld a bung on for my EGR and o2s and run some tubing.

Copied this from another forum discussing the same subject. It will give you an idea, part #s and brands next to each, google away :)

All of the above headers are designed for the 1988-1995 TBI truck engines, but they will bolt up directly in the 1996-99 trucks as well. If you wnat to retain the EGR function of the 1996-99 trucks wou will need to weld in an EGR supply bung in 1 of the primary tubes on the drivers side. This will supply exhaust to the intake manifold.
Since you have a 1994 truck, these headers allready have the O2 sensor bung in the correct spot. You will just need to drill out the center of the byung to install the O2 sensor.

Hedman makes some very nice looking longtubes as well.

This post has a nice picture of the Hedman Hustler headers.

I am running teh 2462 1hkr ****** Comp lt's, and I just came in from outside. I looked under my truck and I could lay the frame on the pavement and the headers wouldnt touch the ground. They are tucked up under the framerails.

I have the Pacesetters... They arent junk at all! All these people saying they are junk prolly havent even used them. They fit great and the were easy to put on. I have a different exhaust then most do. Most just put the adapter on to fit the stock exhaust. I changed all my pipes to 3 inch to the muffler (which is a flowmaster 50 series) after the muffler its 3.5 inch pipe to the stock exit location. Theres a very big difference in my exhaust sound compared to the stock pipe size and the stock manifolds. Its MUCH LOUDER! I love the sound of it though. It doesnt sound like the crap driving around my neck of the woods. You can also hear the exhaust pulses going to the individual pipes into the collector. i grew up around drag racing. My dad built one and it runs straight headers so i like loud cars. The car is in my profile album. Sorry its a long read its just how i could explain it.
