So I am wanting to keep my factory HU and Bose amp for my OnStar and front 6"sub, but want to add a 4 channel amp and replace my factory speakers. I have the PAC-GM1416 and my center console torn apart and ready to hook it up. Where is the connection to the amp that I need to tap into? Or do I come off the back of the HU with the C cable?

So I have the details on taking the bezel off, the stereo out and hooking up the PAC unit. Want details or pictures before I do it? I should have it done today.

I would just ditch the factory sub, I would think that once you get a new amp and decent speakers they will over power the factory sub anyways.

I already have an amp pushing 2 12" Rockford Fosgates, I am adding a 4 channel amp and replacing my front and rear speakers. I have the PAC unit in and everything still works fine. I will post some pictures here in a bit.

Ah yes then I wouldn't worry about the front sub working.

The entire process took about an hour, but that's me taking my time and checking everything still works before I put it all together. The back of the unit has 2 plugs that look a little different so there wasn't any issues on which A, B, or C cables to use like the instructions show. The RCA cables are in easy reach and I am just waiting on my front components to get here. The PAC unit was about $35 from Amazon.

I wonder if that pac unit will work on mine. I have bose with the nav and have been receiving conflicting reports about it working with the so called premium system. I am not sure if mine is considered premium or not. Looks like a easy install though.

Just figured this out today after calling PAC audio. pac1416 works with all bose systems except those with the Y91 premium code. There is a sticker in the glovebox that has the codes...If no Y91 then it will work.

You can just go with the PAC SNI35...not plug & play, but not a hard install.

Hmm...will the PAC 1416 totally bypass the stock amp? I was planning on letting it power the rest of the stock speakers & and just add another amp for the sub only.

Right now I have it hooked up, but nothing connected to the RCA's. My stock stereo and everything else works as normal. I currently have a sub amp hooked up using the hi-low converter, but will try a set of RCA's to see if it cuts out before I add my other amp.

In that case I'm already wrong...I thought you had to unplug the stock amp plugs from the back of the headunit to let the PAC plugs go in.
