Fog light switch and rear wiper

Every time i hit the fog light switch on my 2002 Tahoe my rear wiper goes on for a split second then goes off. Its like i turned the rear wiper switch on and off very fast. I'm thinking its the switch because they are attached but has anyone experienced this before? Rock auto has it for 45 dollars any wear else cheaper??

Read through this, should hook you up with the info you need!! I did it and solved my problem perfectly, just look at Eagles summary of what to change and you should be good to go!

Rivieraracing - its driving me nuts on why this doesn't work for me. I cut the black wire and reattached a new ground wire to the side i cut that goes to the wiper pump and the other side i attached to the frame where the negative battery cable is connected to. The other side of the original black wire i put black tape on and left it connected to nothing. What did i do wrong that it didn't fix it??

I THINK i did but i cant say im sure until i look at it again tonight. Just out of curiosity why does some of the articles say to totally remove the black wire from the connector, is cutting the wire and re grounding it not good enough?

What you should do is get the resevoir to where you are looking at both pumps with their wiring hooked up to work, then have someone get inside the truck and make the rear wiper squirt work. You should be able to confirm which one it is by the sound it makes and by the vibration of it when touching it!! If for some reason you are still not sure, have them do the front squirters so you can locate it and that way you will know for sure it's the other one!

If you do the mod like Eagle spelled out, then that would be enough!! That's all I did and it worked like a charm!

No problem, I think the pumps can go on either side or at least the connector maybe can switch, can't remember off hand!! That's why it's a good idea to hear/feel which one is working so you know that you have the right one!!

let me ask you this .....is there two separate black ground wires for each pump?

Last night i took out the entire washer tank and both pumps. At that time i was able to have access to the correct black/ground wire that i needed to modify. Not only did the issue get resolved my new HID fog lights are working now as well. Something with that ground was messing things up. Thanks to ALL for all the help. Much appreciated!!!!

Glad you got it fixed, sorry about not responding to the question prior to this statement, for some reason yesterday I didn't see it until now!! Glad I could help, just passing the help along that I got a while back!!
