I'm replacing the front hub/bearing assy's on my '96 Tahoe 4x4.
Does anyone know what size the axle nut is?
I also need to know the torque values for axle nuts and hub mounting bolts.
A link providing this info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

People will tell you its a 36 MM, but it's really a 35 MM. Either will work, but I like using the right thing.

The torque on the axle nut on my '92 was 180 ft/lbs, but I think '96+ is 165 ft/lbs.

The hub mounting bolts are 133 ft/lbs.

No problem!

If the bolts start to round off, beat a 9/16" socket on to them, ALL THE WAY. They will come off just fine with a pull bar and some sweat then. The replacement bolts are M14x2.00-50mm, I got 12.9 socket bolts from Fastenal, a bag of 5 was about $3. However they may have to order them. A 12.9 metric bolt is harder than a grade-8 SAE bolt.
