So I bought a Magnaflow 13259xl and everything was fine for the first 100 miles or so.

Once the thing was broken in, it produced a horrible drone in the cabin at 2k rpm on the highway.

Had it replaced at a local muffler shop and I couldn't be happier- it's quieter than stock!

Point is, make sure that a muffler is something you REALLY want before pulling the trigger. It cost me almost $300 to learn that lesson.

I must be getting old too, my stock exhaust sounds good; OUTSIDE, I don't want to hear/feel it in the cabin. To each their own, I know there are many that want everyone to hear them coming, and that is fine too, just not for me.

What did you replace it with?

I had a local muffler shop replace it with something that was the same size as the old muffler.

I'll tell you what, it feels great to be able to hear myself think again.

I'm 18 and I can't stand having loud exhaust on anything I would DD.

I like the exhaust note of my Denali, under 3K, I don't hear a thing so DD is easy without any exhaust noise. Once I lay into it and get over 3K, it opens up and has a nice, mellow exhaust note that sounds tuned.

I'm not a fan of the Flowmaster exhaust tone. It's as if Flowmaster tries to make them obnoxiously loud, because it doesn't even sound nice to me, just loud. The stock exhaust, IMO, is one of the best I've heard on DD truck/SUV (stock or aftermarket).

Old Farts....lol @ Gzes. I went with a Flowmaster 70 Big Block Series, dual orig. in and single 3"out to a resonated 4" out chrome tip ...out the side. Sounds good when I get on it, but no annoying cabin drone when cruisin'.
