This is not a for sale thread. Just trying to get an idea if there is any interest...

I have an extra roof rack off a 2001 to 2006 Escalade. Everything you would need except the 8 bolts that attach it to the roof, and the 4 painted end caps. Basically, I have the rubber and plastic underneath, and the chrome railings. It's a “pieced together" rack so there are 2 potential problems.

1. The plastic and rubber gasket that goes between the rack and roof don't fit perfectly together, although this shouldn't be a problem once installed and tightened. The reason for this is sometime between 01 and 06, they changed how the end caps snapped onto the rack. Some snapped into holes, and some snapped in to a wedge. I needed the holes and this came with the wedges.

2. The bigger issue is the chrome rails were once painted, and now that the paint is off of them, the chrome and been lightly sanded so the paint would stick. It's not noticeable from a distance, but within 3ft or so, you can see the swirl marks.

This rack would best be used to color match it to your truck. I talked to a chromer, and he said it would cost $100 per rail to try and fix, but couldn't promise it.

I know from the factory, this stuff is almost $500, however, given the "piecing together" and the shape the rails are in, I don't know if there would even be any interest. You'd also have to find the correct fitting end caps. That's why I'm posting this... Is or would there be any interest? I don't even know about shipping for these as the box would be 6ft long x 5in wide x 2in high.

I do have some money into this, so I'd like to get something/anything back out of it. I got this originally thinking of blacking out everything on my SUV and decided against it.

Here are the rails from about 3ft away

Here are the BEST pics I could get of the racks up close

And here's how the end caps clip on. You can see the metal part that the caps wedge into.

fwiw........the end caps I got from GM were "universal" and would fit either post or blade (came with a special clip).
