Remove the nut on the bolts holding the lower shock mount. Jack the truck up just to the point where the shocks fully ectend w/o lifting the wheels off the ground. This will make it easier to slide the bolts out w/o ruining the threads. Once you remove the bolts, you can lift the truck higher w.o the rearend coming up with it and this will give you room to remove the old springs and install the new ones. Installation is as simple as reversing the process.

You can either buy extenders or shorter shocks. Check to see if you can get the extenders seperately from either DJM or McGaughys. If your shocks are old, I'd just go ahead and replace the shocks with shorter ones. The drop with those springs are only about 3". You should be fine with the stock shocks for a little while until you find some extensions or shorter shocks.

I say you get extenders, I jst installed some because my Pedders drop didn't come with them and it def. rides even better, especially over bumps.
Plus you don't want to maneuver the car and make the coils free travel and fall out, you would be so screwed after that!!!
