Body Lift vs Suspension Lift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are the pros and cons of the two.....
What is the cost difference?
Can I do one then go and do the other at a later time leaving the first one in place???

Thinking of getting rear lift blocks and front keys.

Then trying to find a 2'' body lift- for looks...

any opinions or ideas would be great......

i have found body lifts for couple hundred... i thought suspension was more...

body can make changes, like under hood, intake tubing,etc...

don't body lift a 2500, they look like crap. 1500 keys+blocks/AALs+bilstein 5100s.

Is your Kon a 2x4 or a 4x4? IMHO (and we all know what opinions are like) lifts look out of place on 2x4's. That being said, also IMHO, they also look weak unless you put taller rubber underneath to take up the space. I've heard you can have lots of problems with body lifts. Linkage and other connection problems like mentioned, plus shakes rattles and rolls because you have separated the body from the chassis. My '** is standard height but my '98 Ram has a three inch suspension lift and 33x12.5x15's. When we did it we were told several times, don't do a body lift.

of course it is a 4X4 if it wasnt i would have some stinking 24's and it would be hugging the road....

Body lifts are alright but ugly when used w/o moderation, prefer suspension lifts anyday.
LoL I remeber when someone on TF said body lifts are "a poor mans way of going high"

i can just see myself looking for some 8 lug 24''s that would really go over well with the wife.... we already have a car that has wheels that are too big for it...... plus its a 3/4 ton and I tow alot and want to be able to go off road cause the explorer doesnt take me there....

just put "the poor mans lift" on my 05 2 weeks ago. so far so good. no rattles or rolls at all and it drives exactly the same as it did 3 weeks ago.

Poor mans lift - get yourself a set of Ford F150 torsion keys. Yes, FORD keys. They fit just fine, and only run about $26 each. Swap the keys out and you can crank up the front end to be completely level with your rear.

Spend about $50 more and get a set of coil spacers to lift the rear and crank the front keys more and you can stuff a 33 inch tire under your rig.

If you have an LT get some Z coils to add about a half to 3/4 inch more height.
If you want to know more, I did a detailed writeup of my suspension work here.

As for body lifts, I think the smallest you can get for a NBS is a 3 inch body lift. But, as mentioned, it is lots of work to do, since you are separating the body from the chassis.

Of course, if you want to go even taller, then you will HAVE to go the route of a suspension lift kit. Usually starting around $1600 or so for a 4 inch lift and up....which is why I wen the cheap route to get about 3 inches of lift.
