Hey all I just did this modd yesterday, turned out great.
(1)a great tool that i used was a crack torch this is to melt the rubber mushrooms so that you can fully remove the cup holder from the middle consul.
(2)after you have removed this then you can drill four holes into the cup holders now i used 3/16 drill bit.
(3) I used leds bought off ebay and then i solder the resistor on now you can buy them with that already done as long as it works with 12 volt.
(4) push leds into the drilled holes now mine fit so snug that i did not use any silicon on them.
(5) i took a small dremel tool with the lights already in the cup holder i grinded the heads down. the reason for doing it after already installed is because the led heads are tapperd or called a dome top. if you grind first then try to put through the hole it will be very difficult. the reason for grinding the heads down is so that it doesnt pin point the light it shines more in a 180 degree instead of 25 degrees
(6) soldered all the wires together and i put a quick dis conect in line in case i need to remove cup holder for any reason.
(7) At this point all you have to do is find a hot and cold in the truck to hook up to. now on my 07 hoe when i removed the center consule there was a very big wire harness i found a common ground and a hot wire that only comes on with the ignition i tapped into those and worked beautifully.
(8) last thing is put cup holder back together and use the torch againg to sofen the rubber pieces and the cup holder will slipp right back on once cooled will be just like factory.
