cam position sensor

does anyone know where it is and a possible pic would be sweet ..........99 tahoe 5.7

It's either under the distributor cap and rotor or near the front of the block on the bottom side.

cam shaft sensor and the crank shaft sensor always messes me up on the location. hope this helps...... I had to replace both of mine.

yep its located above the crankshaft pully in the front

Cam position sensor is located in the distributor. The one on the timing cover is the crank position sensor.

of course thats all the way in the back how hard is it to change and how far down?

If your ref. to the cam sensor, just remove the dist cap and rotor, two screws and it comes right off.

If your ref. to the crank sensor, slide under your truck and in the front bottom side of your block, its held on by two screws.

Why do you need to change the cam position sensor? What led you to think something is wrong with it?
