Just a friendly FYI:

I had this adjustable kit professionally installed at the (highest) 1.5" front lift setting and its been in use for about 3 months.

When I went to pick the Tahoe up, I was a bit surprised -- I thought it looked like too much lift in the front. The guy said the kit set at 1.5" actually lifted the front 2" based on his before / after measurements.

I often look at the truck parked in the driveway and it looks fine.....slightly more fender gap in the rear. I've measured the gaps in front and back and it comes out ok.

However, I've followed my wife through town, watching the stance and hate the way the front lifts up when she accelerates out of a stop.

I've watched her leave my driveway and accelerate down my road numerous times, and each time the Tahoe looks slightly "****" :supergay: (higher in front) for about 3-4 seconds. Then, it settles the weight back down and looks level.

I've also noticed that the body lines themselves (and window trim) seem to follow a little bit of a front leaning rake. I think it looks natural to have these trucks sitting with at least 1" more gap in the rear.

All in all, the kit is good, and I'm happy it's in there. I just thought I'd put out a warning for other very particular fellows out there. You might want to set the adjustable ReadyLift set to 1"......or do 1.5" (in my case it comes out to 2") and lift the rear a little.

I am going to fix my problem with this (MP1267):

2001-2009 CHEVY TAHOE 1500 REAR 1.5" COIL LIFT KIT 4X4

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110483425755&viewitem=

PART #: MP1628 - Rear Lift Amount = 1-1/2" to 1-7/8"

PART #: MP1627 - Rear Lift Amount = 1" to 1-1/4"

PLEASE NOTE: The MP1628 is the default spacer size that will be sent. If you want the smaller of the 2 kits you MUST contact us to let us know you want them.

Can you post some pics? Have you thought about adjusting the Ready Lift down 1/2"?

Interesting... I thought about just going with the CCM 2" front leveling kit with no rear spacer....but decided to buy the 2.5"/1" kit instead. Phew!

I measured last night and my front passenger fender lip sits at 35-1/2" from the ground (in line with wheel hub) and the rear was at 38-1/4" from the ground. So if the front were to come up 2 full inches and the rear stayed the same I can see how it might look like there was some Cali lean at times....even though the rear is still a bit higher...

For those buying the 2.5" front and 1" rear, I would suggest going 1.5" at the rear.

With the 2.5/1 it sits ~0.25" higher in back, but when you have people or loaded down the front will be higher. As a comparison, stock would sit level with the same load. For me, I installed Airlift 1000 air bags for my camping loads.

I would like to leave the ReadyLift at its current level, because it is a lot more work to go back in the fronts than it is to do the rears (alignment, etc).

That, and when loaded with 3rd row passengers, I still get a little rubbing on occasion with my 33" tires in the rear, even after I have trimmed the fenderwells as much as I'm willing to.

These pics don't really tell the story, and they suck too. My wife took them.

My driveway slopes a little toward the front. It really looks ok when parked on a forward sloping or level surface.

I just hate the cali lean on acceleration, and looks ever so slightly cali leaned out when parked on a hill, front facing up.

I'd like to take it out this weekend and take some pics of various situations.

P.S. My tailpipe has been re-routed after these pics and looks nearly perfect to me.

Yours ought to be good, although you never know until you see it in action. Your difference in measurements sounds like the same as mine were pre-lift.

Link for the bags?

Ah, good point. And, in my opinion, 4x4 or "lifted / level" Tahoes look best with a slightly lower forward rake anyway (maybe 1.5"-2" -- I think it matches the body lines).

My guess is raising the front of a stock Tahoe a true 1" or 1.25" would be about perfect.....although that might not be enough for 33s.

Therefore 2 /1 or 2.5/1.5 might be the best solutions.

Here you go!

Elbison, your truck look good! How do you like the Coopers? Also can you take some closeup shots? I am shopping for tires.

Thanks, man. I like the Coopers a lot. I was wary of buying an AT tire, after my 2008 Z71 4x4 Avalanche's OEM Bridgestones made so much noise.

I decided on the Coopers over the Nittos because they look a little more rugged (instead of balloony) and they are supposed to last longer.

So far, they ride great and are quiet enough.

I will try to get a set of better pics of the Tahoe after its next bath.

I've got the Rancho QuickLift system (2" front, 1" rear"), with the 9-position adjustable shocks. I have not towed anything of substantial weight yet (waiting for summer to tow the boat) so I don't know how much it will actually sag back there.

I have had it loaded with my 210lb dog, 4 friends, and gear in a roof box and I got some rubbing in the rear wheel fenders (305/55/stock 20s). I also got (for free) the Rancho "my ride" wireless controller for all 4 shocks. I plan to put that on sometime this spring and am hoping that I can make the rear shocks stiffer for when I'm towing heavier loads. If not, I will look into lift bags to help level it out.

I don't have a cali lean and I don't think it leans back too much on acceleration either.

Jake -- Still have this front 1" kit on your truck? It looks to be what I want. Any issues to date? Did you have to adjust the autoride links or anything?

Thanks!

His sig says -> Air Lift 1000 rear bags and wireless on-board compressor

I guess he doesn't have Autoride since he has an LT3 (not LTZ). AutoRide is becoming a pain if you want to level your truck apparently : /
