I know there is another posting here about the gapping of the plugs but don't want to hijack it. Been looking to replace the plugs (and will probably regap to the 0.35) but in looking have noticed the multitude of options. The question I have is regarding the prongs (pardon the mini-stroke). Are two and three really better than just one, does it really make as much of a difference in the "burning" of fuel as they are pushing?

Thanks

Paul

I think most people will say that it is a waste of money.

I bought some of the bosch 4 somethings (can't remember the name) when I was a kid and installed them in 89 cutlass calais quad 4. I didn't notice a difference in anything except my wallet. $8 a plug for nothing but marketing.

I put the Bosch +4 platinums in my tahoe, and actually got worse gas mileage then before. I then put the OE AC Delcos back in and am getting great gas mileage now. Noticed a huge improvement in gas mileage, almost a full mile per gallon. You will pay extra for the OE plugs, almost $6 a plug, but totally worth it. GO WITH OE PLUGS. one of the few things I would say go, OE. and they are pre gapped.

.035 is used when you have forced induction, NO need for an 035 gap under normal aspiration

HAHAHAHAHA with a lot of swearing, a little knuckle blood, and some added patience....

that is the one that pisses everyone off, just keep playing with different combination's of ratchet sizes and depths and such, it DOES come out.

I used a pair of vice grips to get that plug wire off. Be careful not to squeeze too tight. The main thing for me was to get an angle on it for some leverage. It sucked and that is why it was last on my list.

I just did mine about 2 weeks ago and that's was the one that pissed me off. I ended up jacking up the truck just enough to get the tires off the ground and reaching into the passenger side wheel well with the ratchet and getting it out through there and putting the new one in the same way.

And THAT my friends, is why I use the OEM AC Delco iridium plugs. They are rated for 100K miles. I replaced my at 100K, and probably won't have to do it again for the life of the truck. Thank GOD...it's a PITA, as most of you know.

yes most people here are around 100k, which is why they are changing their pluggs... i wasnt planning on doing this again but since i am getting new wires i feel like i can drop $20 on a new set of plugs and be done with it.

I'll end up getting aftermarket wires for the 6.0 since I'll be running LT's with it, but for now I'm just running the stock wires. I replaced them last year when I did the plugs just for peace of mind. The old ones weren't too bad but I figured its one less thing to worry about if I did it then.
