Did you order a bench seat? I've been looking for captain chairs online so I don't have to pay a fortune from the dealer, but have had no luck. Does anyone know where I can find captain chairs?

Or is there anyone else out there that wants to trade 2nd row captain chairs for a bench seat? Mine is coming from a 2007 Yukon. Black leather seats in excellent condition!

Sorry WILDCAT, I scored some bench seats from a guy in Arizona.
I installed them and it all went pretty smoothly.
Now looking for some help on making them recline like the buckets :)

Hello all.
Looking to trade a brand new set of ebony 2nd row buckets for new or like new 2nd row bench. I just bought an '09 yukon slt but they sold the bench vehicle out from under me and only had a bucket truck left, so i took what i could get. That was about 300 miles ago. Just had a baby and the bench would be a much better alternative.
I'm in west palm beach, florida if anyone is interested in swapping.

Hey guys I am looking to buy in the next day or so a Yukon (short) not XL it has 2nd row buckets but I want bench seats.

Questions:
Do the bolt patters match up?
How easy or difficult is the swap?

Does anyone have any interest in trading 2007 buckets for a bench?
Ebony color.

Let me know trying to make some educated decisions before purchasing.

Tim I live in Texas so I'm not sure if swapping is possible though I would be willing to check on shipping etc.

I guess we need to confirm if Tahoes and Yukons are exact, I would assume that they would be.

The one we are looking at is ebony leather.

Tim when you talk to your buddy ask him a couple of questions from me...the dealership we are possibly buying from is telling me you shouldn't switch cause of the airbag system is somehow connected to the seatbelts and weight adjusted for the buckets.

Sounds a little fishy to me.

Run that by him.

I am pretty sure the seats are heated but I will check into that for you.

To be sure of that, check your 2nd row controls (located on the floor console) and they should have 2 buttons for heated seats, 1 for each side.

This is not true. It is so easy that my little brother and I (age 15) were able to do the complete swap by ourselves in less than an hour.

It is very worth it, too.

wow, they really try to screw people at the dealers. Guess they were trying to pull a fast one saying it was too hard and charge you out the frame for "modification." When you get them installed, hopefully you find a trade, take it back up there and bitch them out :chicken:

I've been reading on this forum and some others about the fact that a direct swap of the 2nd row is possible, and easy.

My question I haven't seen addressed. I have a 2010 with buckets that I want to put a bench in. Are the seats for 2007-2010 all interchangeable? I know that 2007-2009 are, but I wanted to make sure that the 2010's will work with that as well.

I have a line on a bench from a 2009 that I want to put in my 2010. Does anyone forsee any issues? Sadly, I'd be losing the heat in the bench..oh well. Somehow we've made it this far without it.

As long as the design of the seats haven't changed, they should fit with no problems. Especially between 2009 and 2010, since you're not making a big jump between year models.

Buckets are overrated. Bench you can have the dogs in the back and the childseat in the middle. Plus with Buckets you've always gotta have the 3rd row in to have any real capacity. I'm a bench fan but to each his own

Its basically the same leather as other leathers, but its treated to retain that new car smell for a longer period of time. They have been doin this since 1992. Anybody remember Corinthian Leather?? haha

Another "actual difference" is the grade and quality of the leather. Tahoe/Yukon leather has a grainy texture to it and feels a bit stiffer than a Cadillac's. It will be a very noticeable change, and in my opinion it'll look funny having 2 different types of leather in 1 vehicle.

i have black leather buckets seat in the second row. Just had twins with a toddler and i need the bench seat, bucket are heated i prefer the bench is as well. looking or a straight up trade in new england or i would ship them.

Did you order a bench seat? I've been looking for captain chairs online so I don't have to pay a fortune from the dealer, but have had no luck. Does anyone know where I can find captain chairs?

Or is there anyone else out there that wants to trade 2nd row captain chairs for a bench seat? Mine is coming from a 2007 Yukon. Black leather seats in excellent condition!

I just sold my 05 Yukon and took out the Grey Pewter Leather (Vinyl?) bench that I swapped in 3 years ago. I reinstalled my buckets for the trade in
Yes, this is a simple swap, 8 bolts and some trim pieces. 2 people are needed just to because of the bulk of the 60/40 bench
Seating surfaces are in good shape, no tears. Center buckles included. Misc. Trim pieces included. Back of seats are black/dark grey carpet. This didn't match my grey carpet but I hardly ever noticed it.
I know this will fit 01 thru 05 Tahoe or Yukon.(not XL or Suburban) I cannot make any gaurantees on 07-11 fitment

I've got a pair of like new Ebony/Light Gray leather two-tone out of a Z71...wouldn't mind a matching bench.

Mine are heated...non-power fold (at least I don't think, just got it and not sure how everything works yet).

They will not bolt up. Completely different. The bottom of the seat and the mounting bracket are "stepped" to account for the wheel well interference on the short wheel base Tahoe/Yukon.

I thought the leather was different in the 2010 and newer vehicles. Not sure though.

Oops, I wish I read this thread before posting my thread about 2nd row bench seating. I have an '07 Denali with tan or cashmere leather 2nd row captain seats. I believe they are have power but are not heated (not 100% sure, just got it recently and its out getting detailed right now but I can check when I get it back). Anyone looking to trade my seats for a tan/cashmere bucket seat? I think I read it will need to be an '07-09 model for the swap. I am located in Central Florida. I can email you pics of the seats. They should be nice and cleaned up since they're out getting detailed right now.
