AfterMarket HeadUnit Installation Help

i will be installing an aftermarket headunit and wanted to know if i absolutely need to use the PAC OS-2Bose in order to integrate into the Bose audio system. i am not worried about keeping OnStar because i do not use it, same goes for XM and Chimes. can a standard wiring harness be use or is the OS-2Bose the only way it can be done. thanks

You need a Bose wiring harness.

I think the factory amp turn on runs through the Class 2 data bus, so you would need the OS2-Bose to turn on the factory amp.
