http://www.summitracing.com/parts.aspx?sku=HOK-2462-1HKR
ceramic coated so no rust on that issue, but what about keeping this emissions legal with the EGR?
410 bucks shipped isn't to bad ehh? I hate how some sites say itll fit and others dont. wtf.. well im thinking about placing the order tonite or tomorrow if all goes well :Handshake:

Sweet, Hope they work out for ya, install isnt the funnest.
Glad to see your getting the coated ones.
Do you have E-check? If not just delete the EGR., if not i think youl need a " bung" welded onto your headers so you can hook up your EGR.
Edel brock makes some Emissions Legal headers.
I talked to the guy at TBI Chips .com and he reccomended some stainless long tubes from Ebay that were cheap, said they work great . check out his site to get the link.

If there the shorties that i think i saw on there earlier when i was just on his site, im not to interested :/ idk, i figured if im doing em, do em right and only once :)
But if the buy goes down, ill make sure to throw up a write up and a couple clips with open headers!! hahah

Cool,
Yeah shorties arent worth it IMO.
You going to run true 2.5'' off the headers ?
Single or Dual exit?

im going for the hidden look of the exhaust. Im not sure if i want an x or h pipe or nothing at all right now. But im going to keep it 2 1/2 and dump both of them either right in front of the rear tires or right before the axle, which ever is easiest and out of the way. lol a side pipe would be bad ass as long as my ground effect will cover it so you cant see it.

I tried to put a set of those on my kids 89' Chevy 2wd standard cab... The fit was terrible, collectors ended up about 2 1/2" from the trans crossmember and one of the tubes was VERY close to the oil filter. I ended up getting the coated flowtech headers (mid length) and they are great. The cost was much cheaper too.
I don't know if they are still in business, but I have "The other guys" brand headers on my Yukon and absolutely love them ! They were 950 bucks, but they are perfect!

man youre lucky. if only california wasnt a puss about all these emissions. long tubes and universal cats are still illegal. :(

screw cali! lol expensive as shit to live there haha. ohio has sommmme emission laws, but no where near strict as cali is.

These fit without a problem on my 4wd 99 2dr even though they were designed for the pre-vortec trucks. Only thing I did was added an egr bung, o2 bungs and air injection fittings (cali smog stuff).
These slipped in from the top with some maneuvering.

so were they worth it? ill have to do something about the EGR and o2 sensors. but yea. worth it? performance notice? thanks

I can't really tell you if they helped or not. I did a couple of things at once. Another thing was I went from JBA shorties to LTs. One thing is for sure was the exhaust got louder.

hmm. well then, i think im going for it then. with an intake and longtubes and elec fans, i think she'd be doing pretty good ehh?

And a chip!
AtomicHoe094
12-28-2009, 09:01 PM
yea ill deff need one after all this huh? itll probably be one of the last motor mods until i get a crate or something. i found another supercharger, autorotor on ebay if you wanna check it out. its super cheap and needs a chip anyways. ill probably rebuild it if i end up snagging it. he wants 500 shipped outside of ebay.. idk about that much money, but if its under that ill bid on it.
haks310
12-29-2009, 01:15 PM
Yeah, I talked to Ed, over at FastChip, the general performance chip will do fine, it is only $159.
Custom chip if you do heavy mods: cam, heads, charger, etc. Those run $300
I am thinking of getting the standard chip if I have cash laying around. Hopefully I start working in February again, which means enough money that I don't know what to do with.

Have you ever looked up TBIchips.com with brian? ive heard a lot of good things threw him. i wonder which ones better, i thought all of his chips were custom tuned and such.
Ive read up on making your own chip before, but damn, iget lost. lots of shit to download and what not
haks310
12-29-2009, 04:22 PM
Yeah, from what I heard it takes a lot of back and forth to get the chip right. You also have to do a lot of data logging on your own and send it to him.
The standard chip, FastChip offers, is just that, a standard chip. It is just tuned to get the best out of basically a stock '95 TBI. They offer different "stages" , e-mail them, Ed Wright will tell you what the best route would be.
AtomicHoe094
12-29-2009, 04:26 PM
ill give him a buzz soon. but i just read up on TBIchips, you have to have a intake and cam change, which is weird. Im hoping to find a 454tbi around here :/
haks310
12-29-2009, 04:40 PM
LoL you have to?
A custom chip on a TBI will be a waste unless you are changing a lot of parameters and have a lot of engine work done.

This is a custom chip for the 93-95 GM 1/2 ton Trucks with modified 350 engines. ALL specs must be specified with payment and preferrably prior to payment so that we can make sure you have everything covered to support your engine. I have this chip for either the 5spd or automatic transmission. I will also need the 4 letter code from the original chip and likely the gear ratio and tire size for recalculating shift points on the automatic transmissions.
The amount of power gain from stock or other aftermarket chips is impossible to give as by the time you get to this chip the motor will run terrible with the other chips.
At least a cam change is required with this chip in addition to exhaust and air intake modifications. Check out www.tbichips.com/truckmods.htm and email or call me with any questions.

I don't have any sound clips. I use to have some from the track but can't seem to find them. I love my exhaust sound, nice and deep, not too loud until you get on it. I have 2 magnaflow 5x11x22" muffler to help quiet it down.
I believe my exhaust guy made his own x-pipe. x or h would work fine, use which ever you can fit easier.

would you guys recommend magna over flowmasters? any other decent muffelr companies? i heard bad reviews on flowmasters, but they sound really good on these trucks. lol i tried looking up on youtube, but nothing to exciting hit me there. how about these>

Keep your EGR or kiss your MPG away. In some cases people even hae loss of power.

i thought for the tbi's, you didnt have to do any egr work, it was only for the vortects and shit. I just put in a new egr not to long ago anywho. The o2 sensor bumg is already welded inthere, so ill use my stock one, its on the let side. I might grab a new 02 sensor tho before i put it up. ill throw some pics up tomorrow when it gets here. cant wait! im going to drive it around for a little just open headers :)

I don't know how TBI are set up. I just know my truck.
A-Hoe...
When I went to the exhuast shop to get esitmates and conversate my vision of my exhuast and S/C set-up. I came across....
1. I can't run and X or H pipe bc my gas tank is on the drivers side towards the rear. Also....I say it agian and again FLOWMASTER sounds great but they either prohibit perofrmance or take away.
2. Since I couldn;t fit an X-Pipe, dynomax makes a muffler with an X-Pipe built into it.
Its called the Crosscer X.
Due to my HP goals...2.5" piping is all I need.

thanks. In order to be at school and not with my truck, i need a picture of someones truck on a lift so i can draw this whole skit out. Im thinking of getting electric cutouts and magnaflow mufflers. My truck now is loud as shit with the factory exhaust, and just chopped. I need to quiet her down..
Anyone have an under body pic??

KEEP YOUR EGR...for mpg purposes and performance.
I'm throwing on a whipple kit with LTs and I'm keeping mine. Not making the power to loose it.
On my DSM I had my egr system and that was with 25lbs of boost and a lil over 500hp.

You better do a 6.0.
If your gg with all the trouble running two PCMS go straight for that Gas Guzzing HP spitting Bitch.
I would do the 6.0 but I don't plan on having a 600+hp truck as of now. You are at school....you have all the tools...wealth of knowledge and know how when shit hits the fan. The only thing that scares me is the DUAL PCMS and ALL OF THAT WIRING :(
