I was thinking about this but a transmission guy said it might not be the best idea with 135k miles because it puts more pressure on it.

could cause trouble to transmissions with a lot less miles as well.

thanks for the help, I am installing on justin's reccomendation from blackbear performance, because my tahoe transmission could really use the servo, because the trans is kind of slipping. I know a lot of people on this forum have them and say they are great. I have 122000 miles, and im going to try it first and see if it helps. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Slipping trans getting a servo install? What am I missing here...so do you have a "flare" in your tranny? After a completed shift from one gear to another with steady gas pedal, like a 1st to 2nd shift, the rpms kinda flare up a little and go back down as you increase in rpms?

it flares and the shift is weak, along with other problems, its hard to diagnose, i dont know much as far as transmissions but i was told this would help a little bit based on data logged with EFILIVE. I am looking into a built transmission soon, money is the only issue, so hopefully this will help until I can get the money

yes firmer shifts from what I understand, because the servo has a stiffer spring

so this wouldnt be ideal for a truck with 166,*** miles?

i put one on mine with 153,000 on the clock, other applications may vary :)

Go for it.

It helps with holding power by having more suface to hold the clutches, its not going to ruin your tranny, abuse will ruin your tranny.

thanks! i do abuse the tranny alot though...i hot road her alot just to hear that beautiful exhaust, along with towing my 23ft boat. if i maintain my driving habits is it more likely to go out with the corvette servo than just leaving it stock?

No, if any thing it will help the clutches last longer. Not that big a deal.

Just do it and you'll be ok !

That is the correct one. I bought mine from that seller, as well. Fast shipping and a good product. No instructions but just use that write-up on GMFS and you're good to go! If you tow a lot get the Superior 4th gear super hold servo from that same seller. It'll increase holding power in OD and also make the 4-3 kickdown snappier.

I got both products from that seller for $83 to my door.

i may get the super hold 4th gear also anyway. i wish my 4-3 was snappier. would make highway travel, which i do much of, nicer to not have to put my foot down so hard to downshift. i suppose when i get my BB tune this can be taken care of as well.
