i emailed gm to no avail last month.
i then called (saturday) chevy's 1 800 222 1020 number and gave them all the details
they set up a 3 way call with local chevy service guy and set up an appt to look and verify the crack (monday at 3pm out by 302pm). by 430 today, they called and said it was now being pushed to the next level and i will have an answer within 24 hours. fingers are crossed
the guy from gm talked to the local service manager and nothing could be worked out, not big enough problem nationally:emotions122:. not even a partial credit as i was thinking i buy the part and they install it. guess that gl450 will come sooner than later

Why won't they repair it? is there any obvious signs of neglect? did they blame you? any more detail would help, thanks.

now the local service gyuy at palm chevy in gainesville said "its my fault because i put armor all on it" in which i never said i put armor all on it, i actually use the stuff from my wifes x5 4.8 bmw. dash just cracked out of the blue and has tripled in size over 2-3 months, everything in my car is perfect, except this.

update, got a call today and the next level guy at gm said that would like another day to go over the comments from the service guy and talk it over with corporate and he will call me back on thursday

jesus christ.... My dash board cracks my dealer either fixes it or the showroom glass when i drive the truck through it.. When i picked my truck up they friggin armor all'd EVERYTHING.. it took me literally 2 weeks to get it off and i had to use the tough stuff cleanr on the dash because that shit wouldn't come off with soap/water 10x... Good luck, you should post a pic of the crack and post this up on GMinside news.com in the complaint section.. When this first came up i posted a thread but the dealers on there swear up and down NONE OF THEIR TAHOES/YUKONS HAVE COME IN LIKE THAT lol..

FYI armor all has been known to crack plastic/rubber. Would never use it on anything....hate to hear but I wouldnt be surprised if they deny it. good luck though.

I was told the same thing, it's B.S. (I'm still waiting to hear from them).
BTW amor all/ no armor all, sun shield or not has nothing to do with it, I was told by dealer that they are stress cracks from a poorly designed dash.

Yeah that would make alot more sense than armor all.. GM-reverting back to the late 70's dash building I see lol.. cracked Cady dashes everywhere back then.. what a joke

lol if a protectant cracks dash on gm how about all other car makers? do they crack too if you use armor all??? armor all seriously would be out of business. they are trying to come up with all the excuse as they can to put this on the buyer. how about making a dash that doesnt crack to begin with and assume that people would put products to make their sh%t shine. armor all is designed to protect the dash not crack it so either gm pays for a cracked dash or armor all. If they say its armor alls fault than write a letter to armor all, im sure they will let you know all the scientific reasons why its not their product that cracked your dash.

I bet the gm dealers use something like armor all when they detail cars before the cars are sold.

ArmorAll is Garbage, and ask any Upholstery shop.

I clean mine with Murphys Oil Soap and water.

I had one of those liquid air freshners in my vents and it managed to leak out some how. The liquid ate through the dash on my then brand new avalanche. I emailed the company and took pictures of the seal on the bottle and how it appeared possibly cracked I couldnt even tell for sure and they advised me to go to a chevy dealer have the dealer contact them and they would pay for everything to include a rental car. Just a little story to go with your thread.
