2000 (New Body Style) Tahoe Overhead Console Light????

My light inside my overhead rear AC Control light is out? The one that back lights the Switch?

Is there a bulb? What type bulb is it?

How does this console drop? I see one screw near the front. Just un-do it and then what?

There are 4 bulbs on my 04. They solder in and are also 6 volt bulbs and not 12 volt. I got mine from Radio Shack. They had longer wire leads on them that I needed to remove (unsolder) and then just solder the bulb leads into the original holes. They appear to be slightly dimmer than the originals but when it is all back to gether you can't tell the difference. Here is the Radio Shack numbers

To get to the bulbs you need to take the one screw out of the overhead console and then just pull down on the console. The control unit is released by four tabs accessed from the back side of the console. Once that is done you need to remove the knobs and then the cover from the unit. The circuit board is held in by two screws (1/4 inch socket?). Solder in the new bulbs and put back together.
