Hay Guys,

Can you help me in this plzzzzzzzz

Well i am about to buy a CAI but dont know which one is better.

Well can you advice me as per your experience in these CAI's?

Both CAI's here have the same price so i am confused about which 1 to buy.

I am looking for better HP gain and sound.

My car is Chevy Tahoe 08 5.3L with Gibson dual catback exhasut.

Ohh yeah plz give me the part# of both so that i double check with the shop guy if its the same part for my car.

Thankssssssss

I would expect the K&N to be louder, since the filter is open and the Volant is in a box. HP should be similar.
Get your own part number.

Go with volant! With ram air scoop! The cai is easy as hell to install but the ram air scoop is pain the ass. you can really hear the air sucking in but only at higher rpms.
Here is a picture of my 07 white yukon under the hood

hi yukon07Artic,

Waw that looks sweet, i think i have decided to go for volant cai, but what if i took it without the ram air scoop? Will it make too much diffrence with it coz i doubt if the shop here have it with the ram air scoop.

If i add the cai without the ram air scoop can in the future upgrade and only add the ram air scoop(when i find 1).

Oh yeah did u felt any diffrence in the performance or its only for good looks for whats under the hood?

Thanksss

The K&N is in a cold air box as well. I have owned both, and both are great products that are very similar. However, if you go K&N, make sure you buy the K&N with the plastic tube, not aluminum.

There is no difference in performance between the two. The both do the same thing and are set up the same as well. I would say go with whatever one you can find cheaper.

You do feel a difference especially when you step on it, i havent really seen any mpg increase but that might be due to the fact that i like to step on it alittle more just to hear that sweet sound.
watch this video from autoanything. They do a dyno right after they install just the volant intake

As far as the ram air scoop, i dont know if it was worth the extra 100~200 dollars investment. But it does draw air from the tow hook as your vehicle speeds up so you do get a rush of outside win shooting straight through the intake. It sounds about right to me but you should get a professional input from people here on the forums that probably knows much more than i do.

The K&N is a box like the Volant? I've only seem metal heat shields from them, not an enclosed box. They rely on the hood to be the top of their "box". I figured this would be louder than an actual enclosed box.

I have the Volant and it is great. Made it a little bit louder. Do not know about HP gains, price was the same. The thing that swayed me was the "permanent" filter that does not supposedly need to be cleaned that came with my Volant.
