Im looking to upgrade to a "nicer" luxury interior on the 96 4door Tahoe that I am about to purchase.
Has anyone ever done a complete swap? Seats, console, etc...
Hoping to get an Escalade interior from a friend of mine that works at a custom shop.

Where did you get all the interior parts from? I wasnt really thinking of going escalade, I was actually thinking more of possibly grabbing the NBS interior, just escalade is a little nicer.
I know there are issues with the full center console meeting up with the dash, but was wondering if the seat bolt pattern and such match up.
Yours looks really nice!
I already have a really nice wood center console in the 96. Looking to upgrade from the factory cloth seats and such as time goes on.

Nah. No worries for now. This project will be getting started around the end of the summer I think. Gotta decide if Im going to fix up the interior, suspension, or drivetrain first...

god i had that wood crap...
Ive never seen any new body style stuff in go inthe obs. First reason being with the seat belts, our old body style seat belts go into the Bpillar and the floor.. the newer body stlyes are like built into the seat..
imean you can always make your own brackets and crap like that.

Ah, didnt realize that. Thanks for the info. That would make it rather fun to do a swap.

i do infact love tahoes/yukons/escalades interior tho. the one thing i dont like is GMs poor color options. red, blue, gray, tan? Thank god i have gray, and the cheap leather they used. Well idont know about cheap, but i thought my leather in my truck to be very "shitty" lol.
Next year in college, im going to re upholster all my interior, thank god.
The escalade interior looks really good, but when putting in it tahoes/yukons, things i dont like:
1)the console says escalade on it
2) the console cd changer and heater buttons and rear radio will not work for us
3)caddy symbols in the headrests
maybe a couple other things that would just bother me when i finished the swap

The caddy symbols would be bothersome. What about Denali interior? Are they tagged with any logos?
Center console Im not concerned with too much, I have a really nice one already that goes from the dash all the way to the rear of the factory location. Kinda like the escalade, but without the useless gadgets. (and it has lots of cup holders)

I know the Denali door trim panels say "Yukon Denali" but I am not sure about the seats. I think I remember them having something embroidered on them.
I did the Escalade swap in my 99 Tahoe and am very pleased with it. I am having my upolsterer replace the Cadillac emblems in the headrests with the new Tahoe font. Roughly $25.00 each headrest. I havent dugg too deep into removing the Cadillac name from the center console. It doesnt look too difficult to get off or cover up. I'll just have to get creative. Thats what its all about.
Is your interior gray? If so, the Denali interior would work better for you since I have only seen the Escalade interior in tan.

yea that woodgrain trim panel is easy as hell to take off, acouple 10mls on the back, but you can have ppl make woodgrain pieces to put in there... they look pretty good when they come back from the shop..

Interior on the 99 2door I have now is gray. The 96 4 door Im going to be thinking of doing this to has a tan interior.

I feel like I just looked at an RV interior! I mean, there are just peices of wood on that door that just dont make sense...
My center console I have is similar to that one though, just more of a pine color, not nearly as dark.

damn. too....much.... wood....
I'd much rather wrap my panels in leather/suade before i went wood. it reminds me of a boat with all that wood..

Tossing another question into the mix...
What seat options are bolt on for the OBS Tahoes? My 2 Door has electric, but the 4 Door 96 has manual. Curious what seats have the same tracks for bolting on.

Sorry, there is nothing classy about wood like that in a car. Like others said, wrap it in leather or suede.

its a on going question.... you just have to pick the seats you want, and if they dont fit -then make a bracket for em.... lol.. sorry

Im handy with a lot of things, but metal isnt one of them. Maybe if I find what I want I will just talk JK into helping me make it fit.
