I did with 20's, but i bet with 24's you REALLY lost some power huh? Another thing to consider, is gears....what gears do you have now, and what size tires?

I had my BlackBear before I had my Supercharger and I had 24's and the difference was very noticeable. One of the best investments I did besides the SC. Can't go wrong with BlackBear. I ran stock 3.73's for a while and towed a 25' Master Craft and it did well with the combo. Now I run 4.11's It has pros and cons it just depends on you..

BB tune regardless. Gears will cost quite a bit for parts and labor - need to replace the differential gears at both axels.

Gears? With the 4.11's it feels lighter, stronger but I get a lower gas mileage than with 3.73's

^ Are you sure $450 for the tune? What are you getting?

You say you want a big difference. Do not expect a large increase in power. The main thing is drivability - better throttle response, better tranny shifting, a little bit more power, and maybe a little bit of fuel economy (if you can keep your foot off the skinny pedal :).

What mods do you have engine wise? It would be better to have an aftermarket intake, at least change out the muffler (Magnaflow or Corsa), and remove the resonator (if you have the 5.3L engine) to take advantage of the tune.

Yeah that is a good idea to have a stock ECU. As far as the resonator, it is a point of restriction so for performance wise (although minor) I would replace it. But it will get a lot louder since you have an aftermarket muffler.

FYI, when I took the resonator off (have the Magnaflow), it got a lot louder inside and out with drone at ~2,500 to 3,000 rpm. I kind of like it though...

I had a Predator programmer while running my stock 17" wheels, then went back to stock and got a Blackbear tune after installing my 26's. Performance was improved with both however the difference I noticed was that the Blackbear tune's increase in performance was noticeable from idle up whereas the Predator tune was not until 3000RPM and above. As others have also mentioned, drivability is another plus of the BB tune... transmission adjustments between the two tunes mentioned above are also a night and day difference. Blackbear made my transmission shift and respond to throttle position the way it should for best performance and drivability, which was not noticed (or not included) with the Predator tune. I never made it to the track but I'd be willing to bet that my Yukon with the heavier 26's and BB tune would have a quicker 1/4 mile time than it would have with the stock wheels and Predator tune.
