View Full Version : 3/5 Sucks!!!
G-NOTE

We installed the 3/5 Mcgaughys kit and I don't know if it takes a while for the springs to settle, but the rear is up in the air...
At least 3" higher than the front...
I don't know what to do, but this ain't going to work...
The bump stops ARE cut, and proper lowered shocks installed...
When a couple of my buds get into the back it looks good, but right now it is crap!!!!
Do they make 6" drop coils??????

what size tire and how much wheel gap do u have? these things cant go much lower than 5" without some modifications. i have the same drop kit and the rear takes a few days to settle. what shocks are you running? did u leave the rubber isolators out on the rear springs?
We need pics! My 5/5 belltech rides great fwiw.

Hey bro, I have the same kit. Honestly I want more drop too, but your springs/shocks will settle some. I don't know how much, mine seemed to be about 1/2 -3/4 in.

If free travel mod is cut the bumpstops than yes...
Isolator mod ?
Other than pulling them out, how can you mod them...
Even still thats good for 1/2" at best, I need about 3"....
My front is turned all the way up, so it doesn't look stupid compared to the back!

Did you remove the coil isolators? If so you have a 3/5 same springs I have, fatnlow had, and nathan has on his esky. I love my springs.

so its normal for them to sit like this???
I am going to remove the isolators and clamp the first two coils of the spring...
Until i figure out what I am going to do...
this is my wifes truck, so I don't want to bag it, but that might be my only option!
By the way the customer service at Macaughys SUCKS A$$ !!!!
The guy was a complete prick, he said it was 3" higher in the rear cause I used djm drop shocks and not theirs...
He didn't like it when I told him he is a F#@Kin IDIOT...
i had belltech tho :)
I know, the 5305 coils :Handshake: I may end up keeping mine and redoing the coil buckets if the QA1 coils don't ride like the belltechs.

I also had problems with getting the front to align. There response "Don't lower the front more than 3 inches". Well smartass, I have the keys cranked all the way up soooooo thanks for your help.

Did you guys ever figure out which one from summit racing???
If you go to a coilover style coil, you have to weld it into the perch, so it doesn't shoot out???
