well went to dyno the ol tahoe today before the P/P head swap. It made 278.84 hp and 314.28 tq. Kinda disappointed with that, but i think my injectors are maxed out. At about 4200 it leans out and from there to about 5500 it loses power. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought.
Also what injectors did mine come with? my buddies 05 truck made way more hp and and had stock injectors in his truck with a huge ass cam. Just wondering if his are rated more due to year.

that does seem low considering your mods. how many miles does your truck have?

Well, its not THAT low...remember thats his power at the wheels. Stock power rating is not at the wheel.
Whats his truck rated at stock? 295hp? Take away 20% drivetrain loss and that puts it at roughly 240 stock at the tires. so his 38hp gain isn't terrible.

I understand that...I know my truck doesnt run 325 at the wheels..but look at his mod list...he's got a lot of work into it...with all those mods combined and tuned, He should be pushing 300+ at the wheels

Yeah, i would think he'd be right around 300 at the tires. I'm curious to see how many miles on his truck. Being a 2000, a new fuel filter, plugs and wires may do wonders for it.
My old RX-8 went through spark plugs and coils like crazy. Literally, RX-8's need new plugs every 7500-10000 miles, and new coils ever 20,000 miles.
As a test, I took my RX-8 to the dyno. The plugs wires and coils had 9500 miles on them. I did 3 runs, then swapped out plugs/wires/coils and gained 18 hp. A huge difference in a <3000 lb car.

Very very true...I'd think with him doing the internals, he'd swap the plugs and whatnot...fuel filter for sure would also be a huuuuge improvement in HP if its somewhat clogged, very good point :Handshake:

The tahoe has 92000 on it... i got it when it had 87000. Since ive got it ive put a new fuel pump and filter, new fuel regulator, plugs and wires. Ive even had to put new knock sensors in it.
Im with yall though, i figured about 300 to the wheels would have been nice. I also dont have my 20's and 33's anymore. Im just rolling stock 18's with some 265's haha
I kinda want to think its fuel related. Like maybe my pump is going again, or my injectors arent enough. I dont think the 99-02 injectors are any different than 03 and up.(5.3's) I log it coming home and my injector duty cycle showed 154% that cant be right?

It does seem fuel related since it drops off like that. Perhaps you need to step up your injectors. Or if you have access to a flow bench at least test them.

Im not too educated in that department..

well after the first pull we added 10% where it went lean and then another 5% after the second pull. After that it didnt make any kinda difference. I mean i made 278hp at 4644 rpms... After that it when down from there to 5700 where i let out.

I'm just gonna add PM JK or Jenna and ask them. It might be your injectors or a tuning problem  not bashing just saying its worth a shot to check!! :Handshake:

yeah i havent talked to justin yet... hes been tuning it. But i was tweaking on it while i was at the dyno. I didnt get a chance to check my pump today but im going to try tomarro.
Also i love the stall, it does wonders off the line. I can stall it to 2300 + or -

yep, sounded like a fuel delivery issue. When it falls and never comes back on the big end of the RPM rang, it's usually fuel related or timing.

well got the new pump in last night, and wow. I can tell a difference. Time to go back to the dyno! Should have some new mumber here soon.
Thanks everyone for the help
Should be around 300/330 with enough fuel. I need to get mine on an awd dyno before I get any further.

im thinking about gettin this 6.0 from the guy that owns the dyno. Burns oil on one cylinder. but comes with everything but front acc... id like to have a supercharged 6.0 in my tahoe. lol
