Has anyone had a issue with a loose rattle sound coming from the front end in their Tahoe?? My 02 has it and happens when I go over a bump especially at slow speeds. Just wondering if any of you have any insight.

Have you checked the bolts to the front bumper to see if they are loose?

um.....not the bumper.....it is the intermediate shaft in the steering I found out.

I don't have any issues with turning, that sounds like your steering box. Mine just rattles when I go over bumps like I have a loose component in the front end but it isn't. It is the intermediate shaft in the steering. Do a search for it over on gmfulllsize.com there are tons of post about it.

There was a recall on the older year tahoes steering shaft, If you here a loud pop at max turn, you need the new shaft. I can give you the autozone link if you need it

There is a whole thread about it here on this forum. Pretty common problem.

i have a rattle EXACTLY like that and it is NOT the int. shaft.

Going over bumps never seemed to effect my bad shaft (yes i had that problem too) however there are also some weak points in the font suspension.
