anyone have any experience with them? looking at the model number 280. They retail 550 for a set brand new, i can get some shipping to me for 250 brand new in box. just seeing if anyone had any experience with them or not. Id love to do the job cheaper, but shit, i dont want some mock up half ass system going in my truck, id rather do it right the first time. thanks guys

I was like at the Perma-Cools, basically same set up except the Permas run 400CFM more which isn't a whole lot more.

Where the hell can you pick them up for $250? Shit, I'll take one right now and let you know how my experience is with them.

AtomicHoe094
11-06-2009, 06:07 AM
im not a big fan of my setup of the grille anymore. I want to shave off the chevy emblem and maybe do something different. its been in my head for a while, but i dont know which route to take. The hoods getting repainted since it has some "butt holing" going on. I dont like how the black comes to a point in the center of the hood either. lol sorry im picky. Ill keep the name, maybe not that font anymore tho. im hoping i can tie something from the front bumper thru the grille and up thru the hood. that would be sick.. idk yet, im still thinking. lol

while they do put out the CFM, from my use, they pull some serious current off the electrical system as well.

AtomicHoe094
11-06-2009, 10:53 AM
yea i hear ya on that. They say it Draws 12 amps single and 28 amps for dual fans. I have the big 3 done, to help that out some. I may add a second battery later in time, ill have to see how this setup goes. The alternator is also something ill be looking into shortly. Did you like flexs fans?

yes, loved them actually. But I added a Powermaster alt to it. Actually looking at a 250a for my Yukon now from XSPower. My buddy works there.

AtomicHoe094
11-10-2009, 10:10 PM
haha thanks man. It was an individual over Craigslist. It was a couple states over from me, hes had it up for a while and i always tracked him down until i had enough money to pay for it. We kept in close range and he knew i wanted them pretty bad...

I was telling Haks in a different thread, Just do like Nation wide searches over craigslist for shit. I bought a TBI MSD distributor for 100 bucks shipped, normally about 350 bucks. it was used, but who could tell. These fans were a FRACTION of the original cost.

AtomicHoe094

and again.. being a smart ass solves nothing. lol These things are masssive tho. The box says the weight on these bad boys is 27lbs. 5500 cfm should keep it cool huh? lol The install seems pretty simple and straight forward. Im thinking about painting those black covers (3 of them) orange like the color of my truck.. not sure yet.

haks310
11-11-2009, 11:55 AM
Yeah, do 'em the color of the truck. They pretty much replace what the fan shroud was so they will be laying on the grill some. Should look sweet, you should install them before I get mine though. Good idea, right?!

AtomicHoe094
11-11-2009, 04:49 PM
ill try man, Being at school 3 hrs away from your truck and not coming home on the weekends really doesnt give you any time to work on it. If distance and time wasnt a factor i would of have the limited front bumper on, fans going, and hood painted... Buttt lol

On christmas break ill do the fans tho. I have exactly one week for break, maybe i could squeeze it in. lol

AtomicHoe094
11-18-2009, 05:04 PM
he told me this..
Dear sasquatch094,

Yes it comes with the variable speed control, all the wiring needed for installation. comes with the bracket kit to install it, and dircetions. it is a complete kit.

- fortun5

Id ask for pictures justtt in case

its a re-manufactured one, if your opposed to that sort of stuff

haks310
11-18-2009, 05:05 PM
Oh okay I just asked him a question that would probably get that same response

Hmmmm, what ever will I do?!?! LMAO

AtomicHoe094
11-18-2009, 06:28 PM
ahha idk.. shit, if the pics look legit, i say graab it!

haks310
11-18-2009, 07:50 PM
Yeah, going to ask for pics and what "re-manufactured" means first.

haks310
11-19-2009, 01:58 PM
Well this is what he has to say so far:

Yes. it is a complete kit. Everything is included for a full installation. Comes with two different top brackets, bottom brackets, and numerous l brackets, hardware kit, wiring kit, variable speed control (determines fan speed based on temp). I installed one on my blazer, it took me about seven hours, maybe an hour for wiring. the rest was the removal of the old parts and finding mounting points. great product though, they really do help out your vehicle.

It is remanufactured. I bought it from another ebay user, to use on a vehicle i sold. He did not know what was replaced only that something on it did not pass standards. he conveyed to me that the problem was remedied, that flexalite checked and it meets factory standards. it does not come with a warranty, that is flexalite policy on remanufactured items. I put one on a 91 blazer 350tbi. If you would like some pictures give me your email address and I will take some tomorrow and send them to you

Asked him for pictures so should get those today. Oh..is it me or did it have a "Buy It Now" option, that is now gone?

LoL also invited him to the forum

AtomicHoe094
11-19-2009, 04:25 PM
yea get some pics, but it sounds like its allll there. Is that you bidding? sometimes if you bid or another person bids, it takes the buy it now option away. ask him if he'd take X amount of dollars shipped, thats what i do.. they cant pass up a good offer..

haks310
11-19-2009, 06:46 PM
LoL well he sent me generic pictures of everything...which is not help at all. No, that isn't me bidding, still on the fence about getting it.

AtomicHoe094
11-19-2009, 06:59 PM
yea, well tell him to send actual/real pics. hmm thats ghayy..

AtomicHoe094
11-27-2009, 10:02 PM
well i did the install today, ill make a write up in the tech section. Took me about 4 and 1/2 hrs not including the trip to subway. I did it all by myself, which sucked. No beer either :( Well the install went pretty good tho, and my truck is a lot quieter and more aggressive to say the least. I drove the truck around like a madman before i installed the fans to get a really good idea on how it ran, then i did the same after i installed them. Fuck the mpg increase, lets do burnouts. haha itll get em spinning at a dead stop now. overall, i think it was a good 250 bucks spent, will be looking to get underdrive pullies soon and some more shit :)))) hahah
