I got the big body Magnaflow, 22" long, sounds like stock until I get on it, still pretty quiet though.

I have a Magnaflow on my 04 and I love it! Just like TX Tahoe said it pretty much sounds stock until you get on it and that's exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to get tired of hearing a flowmaster or something like that constantly.

This is the one I have, is this the one you're talking about??

That's is the same size I will be running, 14".
3" SI, 2.5" DO though.
Like, NJO nd TX said the 22" sounds like stock until you get on it, I am hoping the 14" will be noticeable at idle and yet not be annoying. Should be a really loud deep tone once you get on it.

Can you flip that muffle around and use it as dual in and single out? Im just looking for the easiest thing for my muffler shop to weld on so it will cost less.

With Magnaflows you can, don't know about the Flowmasters.
Magnaflows flow more than Flowmasters do, but both flow more than stock so it just depends on what type of sound you are after.

Yes magnaflow is reversible.
I have also thought about getting a y-pipe put on and then a dynomax bullet and dump it just past the rear axle

Do the y pipe mod so if you ever want to lift it you don't have to worry about it. Plus its cool.

i would still have to modify the exhaust if i lift it

The more that i look the more that i change my mind. Now i am thinking that 1 dynomax race bullet will be to way to loud. I am looking something louder that the flowmaster 50 series but not obnoxious(sp?). So I am looking at the magnaflow 4x9 with the 11" long case and 17 overall SI/SO and putting a y-pipe before it to get it down to 1 exhaust pipe.

whats wrong with the flowmaster?
Flowmaster is made out of aluminized steel and magnaflow out of stainless steel, so longevity comes into play. Also Flowmasters are widely believed not to flow as well as a straight through muffler, but probably not very noticeable unless you have some big cubes or a power adder in front of it.

I meant why did 992door want to get rid of his flowmaster. I have them on mine and am quite happy to have the back pressure as I feel it got even more power out of it.

because i want something different

spend it on somthing you dont have then if you want to differ your truck. Corsa is the only upgrade you should do to your exhaust from a flowmaster.

I wouldn't do the Corsa Sport if you plan on doing longtubes in the future, everyone says it sounds really loud and raspy afterwards. Go with the Touring, if you go that route

I refuse to spend that much on a muffler

Now the next thing where do i have it exit. Right now it is like Blackcoffe's and i am getting sick of it it just looks like it is just there. I thought about running it out on each side of the hitch or dumping it after the rear axle. Decisions decisions.

I have mine exiting out the rear on both sides of the trailer hitch. I like it and all, but I kinda wish it was on a 45 degree angle exiting out the corners of the rear. For some reason I find that more attractive. Looks better IMO. I wouldn't dump them if it were me, I personally like seeing my big ass stainless tips haha.

That should sound better than your flowmaster, they get annoying after awhile for a daily driver.
Just put a new Magnaflow on my Tahoe, is pretty quiet , but sounds better as you get on it, im going to remove my cat to get some additional sound.
Every vehicle ive heard with magnaflow sound awesome.

I am really thinking about the 11" and 4"x22 tips
Bad bow tie
11-08-2009, 11:15 PM
That would look pretty bad ass. I have 3.5" tips that are 18" long. I like them. The shorter the muffler you go with, the louder it will be, correct?
