When i have my radio on and begin to accelerate a high pitch noise is comming through my speakers, very annoying to say the least and makes listening to radio a horribly experience, any imput would be greatly appreciated!

are you actually playing the radio and not a CD or tape? just to be clear....
and can you hear it if nothing is playing but the volume is up? (example - CD that is paused)

Just put CD in and reved engine, did NOT make high pitch noise.
Switched to radio, and repeated and high pitch whine was back, heard through speakers. Any thoughts? Must be a radio ground or ?

what if u have the radio off? when mine is off it whines.. could it be the alternator? its a 2001 just bought it a week ago.. im thinkin when the dealer detailed the engine and spayed their loved armor all down they didnt have the motor running and got that crap all over the place.... that was a big no no when i was a detailer at the car wash when i was in my teens. I know this in an old thread just came across it

that sounds like an RCA or ground, stop by Audio Plus and have one of those cats take a listen to it.

pull out the stock deck, and look on the harness for the black ground wire and reground it to a solid piece of metal in the dash. see if that helps

ill do that when i swap over my old system.... i only drive maybe 10 minutes a day so i only get to listen to like 2 songs at most.. but i pulled into work today and was makin a turn into another park lane and the truck just up and died.. just got home and noticed when i let off the gas to coast the lights dim a good deal. rpms drop around to maybe 300 and voltage drops to about 9... im prolly gonna go get the alternator tested tomorrow.. just dont wanna shell out the $200 for one... Hell i havent even got my title yet.. oh well.. gotta love swipin the plastic when ur in need.:emotions122:

Even though I'm suffering whine problems with my truck I can give you a place to look. It sounds like the same problem I had with my 91 Caprice a few years ago. Try unplugging the antenna. If the sound goes away it's a bad antenna or a coupler in the antenna wire. Caprices had a coupler that corroded causing the problem. I re-coupled it with better connectors and the whine went away.

It might not be the solution but it's worth a try.
