I think i just fucked up my hoe.:emotions122: So check it, i was hooking up the off-road lights last night and my cousin and I found a hot wire that came from the factory amp. When we tested the lights something burned out. The compass inside my rear view mirror doesn't turn on. We've checked all the fuses in the fuse box but no go. Well now everything is wack with the electrical system. When im driving the alarm arms itself!!!! Im like wtf?? Also the truck feels like its gunna bog down, untill i give it some throttle it'll stay idle for max 1 min. Is there a fuse that doesn't connect to the actuall fuse box that i just don't know about??? If anyone could help me out it would be apprieciated.

One of my friends had those similar problems with his GMC Envoy. He installed some subs to his car and then it started going crazy like you were talking about. He took his car to a shop and I think they had to reset his car's computer or something like that. That's about all I know to do.

Off the subject, but over the years i've heard a lot about "resetting" your computer after an electrical problem, but have yet to actually meet anyone who has had this done. Is this even something that occurs?

Try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes, I heard that that should reset the computer... alot of the buy here pay here dealers do it to get rid of the check engine light before they sell the cars, so that you don't complain to them about the light until after you bought the car.... It's worth a try and it's FREE!!!!

"bog down" sounds like what happened to me. i had to replace my alternator caz i shorted it.
when you say bog down, do you mean, youll gas it, and it wont accelerate as fast, or at all?
try turning on the car, putting it in drive, and literally floor the gas pedal. if it bogs down (which at this point is a high probability) then it is certainly your alternator.

Could you elaborate a little on the wire that you hooked to, when the problem happened? Also what do you mean when you say, something burned out?

I fixed the problem!!!!!:waytogo: When i was looking for a hot wire i found one that is connected to the stock amp that i had disconnected after i installed my system. when i flipped the switch "POOF" the compass on my mirror stopped working, my guage for my battery said it was below 9 volts. Well i went to autozone and got a new alternator (life time warrenty is kick ass!) Swapped out the old one, and i even changed out the old wires from the alt. and starter for a better current. Well after all that work.....the new alternator was giving off only 11 voltsl. So i re-checked all the fuses in the hoe. Turns out it was a a burned out fused that was creating this problem in the first place. Well im happy i fixed it though. Thanx to all of you guys that responded.:Handshake:
