Just curious. If i am getting one i would like to do it instead of paying someone 500-600 to install it. How hard are they to do?

had to have mine installed because of my rediculous work schedule. then they ran over a few days... should have done it myself...

easy to do with proper tools and knowledge.
if your very mechanically inclined and can read and understand instructions, then ya, have at er.
biggest saftey thing is unloading the torsion bars to remove keys. i recommend getting the gm tool to do it. theres really no other safe way.
Have a friend help with the whole procedure, they will come in handy. And i stress on proper torque on everything.

did mine myself, in a public street (not a garage or even my driveway). Replaced my balljoints, and all my steering linkage, as well as my wheel hub assemblies and calipers. As 3-lot said the biggest pain is unloading/loading the t-bars. I rented a balljoint press from autozone and it did the job, but i bent the clamp (still got my deposit back though).

^^ also the differential took one day to get in because one bracket was bent or "off" by 5/8 of an inch. now that was a PITA

It is not horrible. Tools are important and extra hands is a huge help. I had a bunch of my dads friends help, they build race cars and they are always amazed when working on a lifted 4x4...it's neat to them

I will have a lowered 2dr one day but it will be a 2wd and i would love for it to look like this one. But for now i am thinking that i might get the 2-3" lift it would be more realistic for me. But as ya'll can tell i have a hard time making up my mind. So who knows what i will do.

imo you do whats in your budget, thats the view i have always had. Nothing worse then droppin alot of money on your truck, having an awesome ride but not having the money to fill the tank or get repairs done.

i can afford the 2-3 but i can also afford the 6 but with the 6 would not have enough money left for me to be comfortable

noooo your not one of those guys on the sears tv commercial are you!? hahaha j/p j/p.
once you lift it your going to want to go bigger. just the way it works. i would just kick it on hold and get the 6" kit. IF i knew i would have all the parts to swap mine over anytime soon I'd cut you a good deal on my 6" kit. but it just got pushed back farther as i have to pay for a new furnace out of pocket. gotta scrape together a few grand. WHOO...
and i have to second a lowered OBS with the new Sierra clip on it. someone needs to photoshop that one up!!!!

just make sure if you do it in a garage it fits back through the door when your done... hahaha
