and pulled him by two cars from a 50-80 roll. Dude looked pretty buster, tried smoking me out in his 6" lifted 03-04 F-350 but my gasser doesn't need to spool and I left him smelling my new exhaust. I just find it amusing that a turbo diesel with almost the same displacement was so slow, he had a full a-pillar gauge setup and a 5" turbo back that was obnoxious as hell. My truck must be faster than I thought, maybe a 14.8 instead of 15.0 :roflsquared::roflsquared::roflsquared:

fuck man... im jealous... i too just raced a truck the other day, but it was not as fun of an experience as you had...

Raced some dude in his little coloardo extreme with some (from what i could see) mod work done... I did beat him, but not by much AT ALL... consistantly pulled and the race stopped before i could shift into third (which happens between 80 and 90mph) but i was really hoping i would have stomped him into the ground, made me very upset and wanting a 6.0

All you'd need is a cam swap or a tighter converter, either will drop your ET a solid second with good tuning.

i'd like to see a thread with a list of suggested mods, by order of necessity, such as cam first, long tube headers next, etc, with as many mods as people can think of that would help beginners on their way to creating super tahoes

yea the cam swap along with maybe some LT's is what i think i will be doing in february of next year, along with a re-tune by Justin... I am still pretty dumb on cams and want to make sure i dont sacrifice the high end just to get the low end, i still want to be able to pass people on the freeway when im already doing 75

Just Get a blower

this would have been done yesterday if i could afford it, not to mention the tranny work and the big breaks i would want if i had that much more power.

i find that shocking...i smoked a new 6.2L Denali last night in my f-250 6.0L...

Max
05-12-2009, 07:41 PM
and my denali is faster than a 6.2 with intake and exhaust. tune does alot up here and he was on 37" tires, plus the 6.0 is a dog at altitude.

mile high city kills ya. If the powerstroke had a tune your ass would have been handed to you on a silver platter.

yup...without a doubt. i can see a 6.0l denali taking my truck off the line, of course. but once the turbo spools up...not so much.

I wanna see a duramax, a cummins, and a powerstroke. All 05. Race each other. From a stop, and from 50 mph. All stock. I say 05 so they dont have the stoopid emmissions crap.

I raced a 03-04 f350 dually cc a few months ago he had full 5in turbo back exhaust tune and intake. I surprised him when i went pulling past :) i only had a intake and tb bypass at the time. I went to school with the guy so i knew what it had. About a month ago i ran a 01 eclb 4x4 cummins that was hevely modded and stayed right next to him! :)

All the 05 trucks have emissions. Duramax is always faster stock tho, then the dodge, then ford depending on which one's transmission decides to function. I've driven some pretty quick 6.0psds but they never run as well for long periods of time like the dmax or especially the cummins. I build all three trucks in various stages daily and can honestly say I like everything about the GM more, 13.5 1/4 with ONLY a tune is fucking crazy for a 6000lb truck. The powerstroke I raced was tuned and piped, I was just faster.

Something was definitely wrong with those trucks, they should have pulled you pretty well. I barely beat a lightly modded lifted diesel and I have 50-some hp over your truck while weighing significantly less.

Thats kinda what i thought too but it happend. I dunno the mods of the cummins other than staight exhaust intake and some sort of tuner he had tons of gauges too. Thing smoked like a freight train. I believe im only like 1000ft above sea level too...

definitely something wrong with both those trucks...no way a lightly modified 5.3l yukon xl would outrun either of thsoe trucks..or even keep up.

kinda what i was thinking, i have a 5.3 w/ intake, muffler, and a tune... still not as fast as i had hoped, and the tune did WONDERS for the truck...

Yeah a friend of mine has a heavly modded 97 f250 4x4 eclb powerstroke and he pulled off a 8.00 in the 1/8th spining off the line and going into second. He ran the whole thing in 4hi and on 35s.

spinning isnt that hard in a pick up. I keep my silverado in 4 hi when ever it rains. Cause more than like 1/8th throttle from a stop will cause her to spin. Its real fun though when you want it to be. I love making uturns at 3 a.m. when its raining. I slide around and stay in the first lane. lol.

My suggestions:

Stage One: intake, exhaust, tune

Stage Two: LT headers, cam

Stage Three: Built tranny, Torque Converter, Blower

Nope.

You don't even have a diesel truck.

You don't even have a diesel truck.True but my dad has an LMM and his last truck was an LBZ, and he had an 03 F250 6.0 which i will admit wasn't half bad.

dodge just builds shit. Interiors have more plastic than a revelle model of its self. and the revelle model will last longer and feels more solid.

Most dealers won't let anyone under 18 test drive a car. We never let anyone under the age of 18 test drive a car without a parent. Hell, we generally didnt allow anyon eunder 21 to take a test drive unless we could tell they were actually there to buy a car.

They probably weren't supposed to. Most car dealerships insurance policies require that anyone under 18 be with a legal guardian.

Why would a dodge want to be lined up with a duramax and stroke?? The latter two are v-8 configs, and in theory would accelerate faster.. They have a smaller power seperation angle than an inline 6(cummins) engine..

The cummins has a lower/higher initial torque, which is what you want if you are towing..
