I am connecting the GM and Alpine harnesses right now, I have connected all of the corresponding wires, but there are a few that I am not sure what to do with. The two black wires appear to be a match, however the black wire on the Alpine harness has a horseshoe shaped end (picture displays it attaching to a battery), do I just cut that off and connect it with the black wire on the GM Harness? The remaining Pink and Blue/White wires on the Alpine harness don't have any corresponding GM Harness wires to connect to, so should I just tape them off?

Remaining wires on GM Harness:
Black Chassis Ground Wire 12V-

Remaining wires on Alpine Harness:
Black Ground Wire
Pink Audio Interrupt In
Blue/White Remote Turn-on

Everything else is connected via text on each wire and color.

Thanks, Dan

You can cut the connector off the Alpine harness and connect it to the blk wire on the GM harness. The pink wire you don't need, and the blue/white wire will be left unless you are adding aftermarket amps.

I connected the black wires, and taped off the blue/white and pink. When It is all plugged in the Headunit has power but there is no sound coming from the speakers. Any ideas?

Do you have a smaller secondary harness? If so, locate the pink wire and connect the blue/wht wire from your aftermarket radio to the pink wire. Some trucks, depending on the audio system's rpo, need this wire energized to turn on the factory amp, even if you don't have the premium Bose.

The sound quality is much improved, the iPod interface is sweet and I am really satisfied! Thanks for the installation help JK! And thanks to Max for the advice!

Being a bonehead I forgot to eject my iPod tape deck before installing the new stereo. Is there anyway I can manually remove the tape because there is no power going to the tape player?

Thanks for that info JK, I just installed a Kenwood HU in my 01 Tahoe. I had the same issues as noted above, but once I tapped into the pink wire my speakers came to life.
