Seat Problems

Drivers seat lost all power, and heat quit on both sides. Seemed to happen at the same time????? Is there a 3rd fuse/relay block somewhere to check ( maybe not under hood or inside driver door )?

Not sure about a 3rd fuse/relay block. One thing could be the connector under the seat (this is my typing outloud, complete shot in the dark). Unplug the connector and make sure the contacts are clean, then re-connect the two ends and see if that helps.....

Did you figure out what was going on here? I have an 04 Tahoe that is having the same problem. Mine has memory seats also and of course, with the seat not moving, that's not working either. I have taken it apart and all connections are clean, no fuses are blown and I have replaced the seat control module under the seat. Still doesn't work. Does anyone know if that module has to be programmed? I don't have a Chevy dealer in my area so I'm hoping not....Thanks for any help.

First, go into your underhood fuse block and check MBEC1 50A fuse:

If that fuse is good, pop off the black plastic cover of the relay block. It's located inside, to the left of the brake pedal. Check the 30A circuit breaker on the bottom left:

If either one keeps blowing, then you probably need to systematically chase down a short, which could be at the wiring underneath the carpet, or at either of the seats themselves.

You could try unplugging each seat separately to see if the short goes away. If the fuse and/or breaker still blows with both seats unplugged, you may have to pull back the carpet and look for an exposed wire.

You can barely see the wire in my pic. It looks solid gray, but it's actually gray/black. That's the courtesy lamp supply voltage. You will get 12V at this wire when you open any door, the rear hatch/barn door, or when you use the courtesy lamp switch (near the headlight switch).

Thank you so much for that detailed reply. Tried all of that and it's still not working. Luckily, I work at a salvage yard so I have another truck that we're trying parts off of, but so far no luck. There doesn't appear to be any broken wires, gonna try the switch next and see what happens. Thanks again.

Emmalou - Have you metered for 12V at the orange wire on the main seat connector? It's the connector at the rear, on the floor.
