It only had the Tahoe badge and the dealership badge right above it. I just pulled them off. Then it took a long time soaking the adhesive tape with Goof Off and scraping with a plastic paint scraper. Of course you could still see the outline of the badges after that. I just waxed it with Mothers Carnuba Cleaner wax and it removed the outlines. Looks Perfect!

Once you get that tool, you will... haha... It will look a lot better with the side molding gone. And it will only take a few minutes with that tool.

only thing i'm worried about is any fading of the paint.

Yours is an 04 so you should be fine (OP is as 06). I've read on here and other forums (GMFS, FSC) people doing it with 02's and being fine. I took mine off (just the words) and it was fine.. mines an 04...

Here. I think it would have taken me as much effort to find one of those wheels and get a drill as it did to scrape it off in the parking lot of my apartment. I just wanted it done right away. Here's some pics.

Take the side moldings off. I was hesitant as well but it really does look so much better.

Man, I like the fact that they protect my doors if some dick hits it with their doors. You know how people are. I'll consider it though. I'll take you up on that Nathan if I do it. I guess I need a heat gun and the magic eraser for that for sure.

The side molding glue is actually way easier to remove than the badge glue. You can pretty much rub it off with a glove in about a minute.

I bought an old cop car one time and it still had all the POLICE stickers on it. I drove it like that until they pulled me over and told me I'd better remove them immediately. So I peeled them all off. There was probably ten pounds of glue under them. I used Xylene on the glue. It instantly dissolved the glue but it didn't hurt the paint. If I pull the molding off my truck I'll use that stuff on the glue. I just thought that might be helpful. The only reason I didn't use it on my bagde glue is because they only had 1 gallon cans at the home depot and I didn't need that much.

People still manage to find a way to bang up your shit with the protectors. I got a nice crease in my passenger door right after I waxed it. It was like some fat broad at the store just decided to fling her door open with disregard and then left. :emotions122: It never seems to matter how far away you park too.

Does the 3m eraser wheel plug into a electric drill?

NAPA auto parts was the only place around here that had one. They wanted $40 for it though so I just used some Xylene. It didn't take very long but it looks really good. I may take the roof rack off tonight. It's funny, I got this truck and so far all the mods I've done are taking things off except for the Corvette servo.
