View Full Version : big brakes HELP
has anyone put on bigger rotors and calipers and noticed that the pedal is easier to press?????????? I am guessing with the new BIGGER calipers and the expanded volume of fluid, the pedal would be easier to depress. The Yukon stops fine, but it does not feel like stock. I have had this kit on 3 other vehicles. I bled the brakes for 1.5 hours (not an exaggeration either).
Thanks

Im asking for help. I like the kit, i have had this kit on a few other cars. I am just experiencing something I have not before. I have a call in to the manufacturers tech line and im waiting for a call back. I will post pics later. This is a build for Truckin' Magazine so I dont want to give too much away :)

How Many pistons are the calipers. I wouldn't think it would make it feel softer but I have had big brakes on my other cars that were upgraded 4 piston ones but didn't feel different from stock. But if your kit is like a 8 piston one I could see it feeling a little different.

Pretty please lol, it doesn't have to be whole car pics?
Just want to see how 22s look on a 2/4 with a brake kit som I can do similar?
As for the brake kit feeling soft, I would be led back to think the brakes were not bled enoungh (though you said it was done for over an hour). Then again COULD just be a new feel, a goof brake shop like Just Braks can tell you for free?

You have to take it in to the dealer or someone with a Tech2 to do a relearn bleed of the whole system...you have air trapped in the master or accumilator..they will know exactly what to do..will make a huge difference.

I have heard of that being mentioned before but I don't have any details on what needs to be done. I don't know why GM has to make everything so complicated. You shouldn't need a tech 2 just to bleed the brakes

It is a brake bleed and the Tech 2 will need to be hooked up...should take roughly a hour to complete.
Do a normal bleed, then with the bleeders shut, command the ABS bleed with the Tech II, then, while commanded, repeat the four corner bleed
