Since the forum is so new and I'm using this idea from other forums that I post on, let's see what type of front grill badges everyone is using so we can all get new ideas.
I currently have my stock one now, but I'm thinking about repainting or getting a Billet one. Please post pics of anyone has them.

:imo: Just bc he likes the brand doesn't mean that he's trying to advertise for them. Seems like that would be saying the same for those who put college/professional sports team plates on the front.

I'm not sure how you could do that without replacing the whole grille. If you remove the bow tie from the grille you still have a bow tie shaped frame in the grille, the "F" might look kinda funny overlapping that. Now if you go with big mouths look or something like that and peg it in the middle that would be different.

What's some good two sided Tape to put the rear emblem back.
I used 3M that I picked up from Autozone or Checker. I put it all on the decal then trimmed the edges with a hobby knife

that is the front push bumper from GoRhino. It's great, instructions are vague but the product is top notch. The center bar is a step which has come in handy when working/cleaning. I ordered my from AutoAnything.com as they were one of the few places that had it in stock ( it was on back-order from JC Whitney for 3 months :emotions122:) and it was still cheaper at AutoAnything. I'll try to get some more pictures of it and you can decide if its what you want.

Not sure about plastic paint remover but here's what not to use.

the gold on the back is more than just paint, it's a foil so I don't know if plastic paint remover would do it. I suppose if the paint remover is safe for plastic you could always try it.

Do any parts stores in your area have touch up paint? If you can't find that buy a can or two that look close then spray them on something else to see what they look like dry. I don't think you'll need an exact match because it won't be right next to the other paint, assuming your grille is not painted to match. I just used some red Duplicolor. I'm sure it's not an exact match but no one can tell.

If I recall, I took the platic cover off the top of the radiator to get to the screws on the grille. I don't remember where they all are but I do have a Chilton's manual and can look if you can't find them. I know I did not remove the headlights, although as easily as they come out if it helped it wouldn't be a problem.
I just looked at my manual, if you have one as well, just follow what it says and you'll have no problem

No prob, but as easy as the grille is to take off that might have mad it easier to get to the back of the bow tie. Guess the process isn't as important as the end product. Follow the write up from GMFS that is posted way back in this thread and you'll be fine.

Was going to pass a tractor trailer and right when I did a rock flew up and got my emblem. I was pissed but until I can find a junk-yard that will sell a good one separate from the grille I'm just gonna leave it.

I like how you left just the cross bar chrome and painted the edges. It makes the billet grill/headlights/bowtie stand out more.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. Unfortunately the harsh desert has taken a toll on the front end. Lots of chips and scrapes now :doh2:!

I've been around...mostly lurking though. To be quite honest, I haven't had the bug to do anything to the truck in a LONG while but reading all these posts kind of gets the blood going again. Maybe I'll get off my lazy arse and put some HID's in or something...LOL. I'll throw some pics in the main forum in a sec...

I did mine and it was super easy, took about 20min (including drying time). Pop hook, take off grill (handfull of bolts), un-clipped 'GMC' logo, sprayed, 15min dry time, put back together. Lucky I happened to have body color sray paint around.

I started to paint it from the backside but had an accident with some mineral spirits (don't ask) so it's just painted and cleared form the outside but I figure it will just give me more of a reason to paint it every other month when it chips!! :)
