for those who kept their sidesteps, what will make em nice n black instead of the faded color they are now, i was doin the back to black stuff on my mirror trim n roof racks then tried it on a sample on my sidesteps nd it looked good but then someone (gf) was gettin in the passenger seat and almost fell and smashed herself cuz it was too slippery, i hadnt really noticed it since i dont really use em but shes a bit shorter so she needs em. dont kno if i wanna paint em tho since it probly wouldnt weather right..............back to black did make em look nice tho for those who dont use it

I use Poorboys Trim Restorer (http://www.glimmerglassdetailing.com/trim-restorer.html) on textured black trim and it does a great job. Use it on a microfiber applicator pad (http://www.glimmerglassdetailing.com/miappad.html) for a little extra bite. Thats my best solution, hope it helps :)
This took about 3 coats and then a final buff w/ a mf towel. I did a quick swipe so you could see just how bad these things were!

And after about 3 coats of trim restorer... you get this:D (fwiw, I applied each coat and let it absorb for about 10 mins between each application)

Fwiw, you would have to reapply every so often, once you see the trim starting to fade again.

I used Turtle Wax Ice on my sidesteps. The tubes returned to a nice satin black and rubber steps look great as well. Just give it a good wipe down afterwards.

I started using poorboy's "natural look" and was very impressed with it! I slipped one too many times using various other shit but the "natural look" left no greasy residue, wasnt slippery when wet and a single application last 2 months before a reapply. Everytime I washed the car a dry wipe down would shine it back up again.
my 03 with 195k on it now.

and I use it on everything black not painted! Tires dont sling shit all over and dont have that greasy shiny look either.

101% agree, on my H2 there is a lot of trim just like the avalanches that is made out of that plastic that like to turn grey. This stuff is the best, forget tire shine or any other product out there that claims back to black etc. this stuff does the job great.

FIrst off.... MASS HOE being from Mass myself...love the name.
Secondly...they say a good man is hard to find, well, a good woman is even harder to find.
Thirdly....back to black is junk. I've been using tire shine for a couple years with good results but I am going to try this forever black stuff soon.
