I have been running 35 watt 6000k for a while. Bight, but wanted a bit brighter and more white.
Was just going to buy some 5000k bulbs. But they were half the price of a new kit. So I decided to upgrade to the 55 watt 5000k kit.
Since all the bulb are rated at 60w. I just replaced the ballasts. According to DDM, the 6000k should look like 5000k.
Well I drove around last night, the are a bit brighter and slightly less blue. But I don't see the 40% increase like the say.
i may just try the 5000k bulbs tonight.

IIRC DDM told me that their 55w bulbs were about a 1/4" longer than the 35w bulbs. You just may see a difference goin with the 5k bulbs that came with the kit if that is the case.

Hmm...the guy at the store didn't mention that. But I'll check it out. Thanks.

i was told by ddm that the only difference is the ballast. i actually bought the 55W ones and decided that i didnt want it that bright and so they swapped the ballast for me.

Yep, that is what I was told. Helpful guys, there were even willing to hook a few bulbs so I could pick the color I wanted.

That doesn't look like a really big difference.

Its not. The 55 is a bit brighter.
The 5000k bulbs has some yellow in it, especially on high-beams.
I will probably put the 6000k back in.

I see a huge difference. You have to get a shot down a dark road, and the difference will jump out at you.

There's a significant difference, plus I'm guessing you have them in reflectors, not projectors? With HID's, the more power you have in a reflector housing isn't going to be as noticeable as with a projector, because it isn't focused light. It's just sort of throwing all that extra light everywhere.

True, I will look into projectors. I had someone drive towards me, it was bright. Not glaring.
But when they hit the highbeams. Holy crap, it about blinded me. And it was in the day. I gotta be careful when I flash.

I opened up the aperture on the camera some, because it was showing the HID's darker than what they were.

This one is a bit brighter than it should be, but you get the idea.

I have the Bi-Xeon 35w 8000's and are bright. They make 55w Bi-Xeons? When I bought mine I think all they had in Bi-Xeon were the 35w?

i'm glad you fellas are asking ? about these h.i.d's. I want to get
a pair of them to at DDM. now with the 55 w do you get flashed
by on coming cars their thinking you have your high beams on?
But i am leaning toward the 35 watt 5000 k bulbs i want them
bright white and i just have the clear headlight housing.

Never got flashed with the 35 watt and so far none with the 55 watt. But I have them adjusted pretty good.
