has any body changed theirs ?

I changed mine. Its a bitch plus I had a lift at use and assortment of tools.
If you need a PITMAN arm then your sterring wheel is very loose on Straigh away driving! Turning your wheel excessively to make a turn is a sign too!
Its really just a couple of bolts BUT in MY 99 OBS if I recall its part of the frame or some other big bar that in the way! I forgot how but after some elbow grease and moving around of other things it was able to come off. Don't think this will be an easy 1-2-3. Make sure you have some patience and some time on your hands!
GL with install. When I see my Uncle I'll pick his brain (he owns the shop, modded 2Dr and helped me with the pitman arm too!)

IMHO, unless you have the proper tool, I know Matco sells it cause I had to buy one, your best bet is to remove the gearbox.

the steering wheel back and forth while it was jacked up and hear and see the play in it. i did change the idiler arm and notice some improvement.

What year is your Tahoe?
Most models you do have to unbolt the gearbox to gain access to be able to remove the pitman arm, unless using the above mentioned specialty tool. Two bolts and its undone.
