I have a 99 2wd 4dr tahoe i want to lower for better handling plus it looks better. I have stock wheels and tires. I have been told some people had to do some modifying after the install of some kits due to clearance issues. I want a kit to lower maybe 3" in the front 4" in the back that is complete with no modifying. Can someone help me out.
P.S.
I'd like to keep the ride nice.

thats easy just before anyone orders a kit I allways have them measure the truck from ground to fenderlip or center wheel to lip all around. That way I can set you up with a kit thats right and the rear wont sit lower than the front.

Just got my tahoe back from my brother. I measured 31.75" in the front, ground to the fender, and 32.25" in the rear. Let me know what you come up with.

I think that 3" would be good. Would the kit come with lowering shocks and struts as well? Does it come with instructions? How long of an install? Thanks.

in front you have a few options

1) 3 inch lower a arms
or
2) 2 inch spindles and 1 inch drop spring

in rear would be shackles./hangers. THe price ill give you would be with the djm shocks with the lifetime warranty I have.

If you do front 3 inch lower a arms prob 45 minutes per side. If you do spindles and springs prob 2 hours per side.

IN rear shackles/hanger about 3-4 hours depending on how good of a rivet removing chisel you have.

Which is better in the front for ride and handling?

Well a arms just use your stock spring i would get new shocks thats for sure.

spindles/springs because you would use new springs ride will be a little stiffer which helps in handling.

Ok. just double checked height on both sides. the drivers side is .5" lower than the passenger. could this be because it needs new shocks?
