I want to have a ALL black interior. ever seen this before? i have a 95 2 door yukon.

Ive seen trim kits for black or or carbon fiber but its only fir trim parts, and id like to have the whole thing black. Would painting it be good? or do you guys know of a website that they sell it or any info?

you can also get it at the autopart stores.

did some door panels on an old vehicle and it worked really well. it was just starting to wear a little on the arm rests and handles when i sold it. (1.5-2 years later)

You can always paint your carpet like i did, http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2013&highlight=painted+my+carpet

It is still holding up strong, a little wearing on underneath where i always rest my foot when driving but otherwise its mint. 10000xxx better than that beat up carpet i had before. I used Duplicolor Vinyl and fabric paint, they sell it in black so have a ball!

Keep in mind. I used four cans just for my front and rear passenger area. Thats not even including my cargo area so, buy a good amount of cans.

My dash has quite a few cracks in it and I'm either planning on putting in a new dash or ordering a dash cap. Anyone know if the newer 00-06 dashes will fit in the 91-99 trucks?

Planning to do the same thing down the road. So far I have only researched what would be the best product to use. The spray cans from LMC or your local auto parts store seem to wear out after a while. Only way to go would be to dye everything. Check out SEM Dye.

This is what this guy used, check out the next page also.

i like how it follows the two tone of the exterior of the truck, and the smootheness.

Getting it that smooth will take shit load of work. Looks really good, but I like the textured look.

How hard is it to actually install the dash how many days would it take and would I need a shrink or good meds afterwards? Mine is cracked in two spots.

AtomicHoe094

Don't feel bad. Mine has two huge cracks above the cluster are and one medium sized crack on the pass side up by the window. I was thinking about trying to put a newer 96+ dash in my 95 4 door.

its basically the exact same with the exception of the airbag. The 2500 truck models have a pocket where the passenger side airbag is.

not sure why you would want to put in the same dash as the 96 but with the airbag thats not going to work in the 95 anyway, but hey! your ride, not mine.

Think this will be next on the list have a huge crack over drivers side airvent and then in the middle in the defrost vent. I am redoing some wiring and problem shooting a miss gotta love obs mine is a pain but such fun to drive when she is running good.

LMC lists the NEW dash panel at 995 wow thats a chunk! Thats just the panel no bezel or insulator you have to buy everything seperate.

I've seen that price too........thats the most ridiculous price i've ever seen for a piece of plastc, regardless of how large it is.

AtomicHoe094

just buy a used one.. i mean thats what you would have to settle for atleast, unless you want to blow a grand on something you can get for 100 bucks..

that will be my only option will look at LKQ and other yards to see whats out there.

---------- Post added at 09:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:45 PM ----------

LKQ 125 not bad have several options all are 97 and newer so I will have to deal with the pass side airbag spot.

As far as the color it can always be redone can you dye a dash black after it has been painted already?

AtomicHoe094
08-27-2009, 05:35 PM

Will have to dig into this subject see what all it takes. Have a great contact at a auto body shop see if he is familar with the process.

Ive done it before.. And you could do it in your backyard too..

Just scuff with a red pad, wax and grease remover it, maybe maybe apply a light coat of adhesion promoter, then rattle can it. Or use a automotive spray gun, but either way will work out fine. Dont get a glossy color, because that will make reflection with the sun while your driving.. and youll be set tho man.. no need to clear it.. pretty simple tho

Cool never dealt with the interior side of things she looked great till she spent two Texas summers in the garage while I built up funds to do the work needed. Hey whats the verdict on your sc man?

AtomicHoe094
08-28-2009, 01:23 AM
yea, you should tell us how everything goes man.. Umm lol.. its on the back burner right now  i just have alot going on in life right now, its up for sale but its not going anywhere and i know ill regret it if it does sell. I could defff use it tho later on, i mean a 383 would help, but a 383 whippled and intercooled would be even better :) lol Im on a path right now for getting some electric fans for me hoe and underdrive pulleys :) as well as a 6al and MSD upgrade.. hopefully to boost some mpgs.. also need an exhaust :hmm: damnit! lol.. whats new with you?

That dash would be perfect need to see if he will ship otherwise may just go to LKQ thier about 30 minutes from me! As far as my ride it is one issue at a time she is still studdering at low RPMs feels like a backpressure issue. You can feel the new motor and tune wanting to work and it screams above 3000 but its a dog out of the hole. I have a x-pipe and 2.5 inch exhaust waiting to weld up when I get time and oh yeah money. I think once I get that done and rewire my crank trigger she will be ready to run hoping to get 350-400 hp from it. On yours once you get the fans done you will feel the diffrence add the MSD and exhaust and she will be a diffrent ride. I feel for you the tbi seris is a pain to find parts for but a strong plant to start with best of luck if you need anything let me know ride looks good you have done it right!

not sure why you would want to put in the same dash as the 96 but with the airbag thats not going to work in the 95 anyway, but hey! your ride, not mine.

I didn't plan on using the airbag. I hate the way the cupholder thing is set up on the older dashes and thought if I swapped to a newer style dash with the air bag I could remove it and do a monitor in the dash. Seems like a good spot for an in-dash dvd setup or maybe a 2nd car-pc touchscreen.

If anyone wanted to use the airbag in an older tahoe I'm sure they could wire the pass side airbag into the drivers side one. Seems possible though the last thing I want to mess with is the airbag wiring. It would suck to have something short out and have an airbag randomly go off on the highway.
