Tire PSI

I recently put 22" rims with 305/40/22 tires on my 07 Tahoe and the dealer explicitly told me not to go over or under the posted PSI regardless of the tires and rims. I keep reading threads where individuals are filling their tires with anywhere from 35 to 40 psi?? The label on the side of my truck has it listed 32psi, should I place more air? and why?

When I upgraded to 24's, I wasn't sure what PSI to set the tires at so I emailed the manufacturer of the tires and they advised me to go with the recommended PSI on the door. They told me that the recommended PSI pertains to the weight of the vehicle and not the size or brand of the wheels or tires.

When my wheel package was shipped to me, the PSI was set to like 38 so I lowered it to 33 and it rides much smoother now.

Mine has the stock 20s. I run 33.

That is what I thought. I do pleanty of research before doing anything and I find it odd that individuals are over inflating their tires to 38 or 40 psi. I found it odd when I put the new tires on and to my surprise the ride was horrible. I checked the DIC on the truck and they were at 49. I deflated them to 32 and they seemed pretty low but I rather have them to the manufacture setting than take any chances. Taking a trip to Florida next week and just want to make sure. I should have left the stock 20's on before deciding to take the trip but oh well.

Your not afraid of any damage to you tires? is your ride smooth? I've heard that depending on the conditions it not safe to over inflate your tire. You think that's true?

I run 40 psi with my 26's

i ran 40psi on 22s in my lowered magnum.

38psi on the denali's 22s

thats cold. psii go up 2-3 psi when hot

stiffer ride but tires last longer and less chance of being underinflated

26" wheels at most times need 40PSI.
I fill to about 38PSI when I inflate my tires.

Going to be buying a set of 22" wheels. Should I just buy factory pressure sensors for them? Does dealer have to program new sensors into computer or will my truck be able to use new senors just by doing the standard setting procedure?(deflating or adding air to each tire in the correct order)

Will sensors out of any gm suv word? Escalade, Yukon, Suburban?

i filled my tires w/ nitrogen ( hey i got in done for free) it was filled to 35 after storage my PSI doesn't past 32 - 33PSI
