OK, I see that one member here already has one, well, let me add a second one to the mix. Would love to make the new tahoe match teh monte. My car has a lot done to it, but I'll give ya'll an overview and a few pics. I was trying to sell it to finance my tahoe, but now I am debating on selling it so I have enough money to lift the Tahoe...

your not alone, i have a 78 monte carlo that ive owned for the past 16 years and my family before that, currently i have a 496 big block in her with every power accessory including moonroof from the factory. 8.5" rear end, 13" C5 Corvette front brakes, hydroboosted and putting on 12" rear disc brakes for an 02 Camaro. I built mine to take a corner and to do a 1/4 mile also. Definately looking for a decent paint and body man in Rhode Island, Mass area.

I thoguht long and hard before doing an LS swap on teh monte. In the end fuel efficiency and gas prices made me do it. No a/c, aftermarket Mojave heater, the list on this thing is forever long, I stopped counting money a long time ago, but have began to think about trading it away for a trans am with teh ls1/t56 setup, just because i really want a stick! I like the older body styles as well as the new ones, just don't know what I'll do next. So many toys I want, just not enough money to finish it all ;) As for looking for a good body man...take your time to find the right one. Mines a good solid 5 footer or less, but I can see a lot of flaws I would have fixed and saved a lot of money on...meh, live and learn.

I have pictures for days..days and days...so here are a few of the things I've done to it...
the beginning of it all 5 almost 6 years ago:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d151/ljotis_2000/Monte%20Carlo%20SS/12_16.jpg
After I got back from afghanistan, it had a 200r4, 383 stroker motor, GN rearend and some new paint..another good from 10 foot, but sucked up close:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d151/ljotis_2000/Monte%20Carlo%20SS/Car008.jpg
And then I got stationed in atlanta, had to drive 15 miles each way to work when gas hit 4.25 a gallon and couldn't afford the drive at 8 or 9 mpg...even with 3.73 gears. Stepped up to an LS motor, 4l80e tranny and the 4.11 gears..and 22 mpgs.

After getting the motor in, the interior was done up, sorry I don't have more pictures, but basically the car now sits 2" lower on all four corners, has 3" exhaust, interior is pleather (viynle??) black with green stitching, headrests have "intimidator SS inscribed, as does teh dash plaquard, no a/c, but has heater, MB Vintage wheels....I could go on forever about teh car, how much I've put into it, ect ect...I've had so much fun building it, and driving it. Its been to the strip, bests of 13.1 and 106 mph. Traction is limited to say the least. A few random pictures of the car, wish I had a few videos for ya'll...

It had a few things wrong with it, but nothing too major. Right now, while I still have it, which who knows because every week I get bored and want something new...I jump back and forth between a T56, or just a bigger cam and stall. I know the thing is capable of high 11s with a good tune, just done know if I really need all that :D...yeah I do!

I will tell you that I put a lot more money into the car making it something I could drive every day and bring my kids around with me without being too bad, and with a 3" exhuast and flowmasters, I had to put a semi large radio in the car to even hear teh damned thing!
