Hey all,

Checking on the feasibility of a bench-for-captains seat swap for a friend.

He's looking at 2nd row captains chairs for his '04 Denali XL. He currently has the 60/40 split bench. He's looking at seats from a Suburban (not a GMC) in the same (he believes) med grey/pewter. I told him I'd ask people "who know" if the swap will work...

So, need to know:

1) Should the leather colors be the same between Chevy & GMC in the same model years?

2) Does he already have the floor stampings/hardware to accommodate the captain chairs, or will he need the dealer to do anything first?

Thanks, folks!

I'VE HEARD it's a direct swap...just don't forget to swap the carpet parts that go to the back of the seats when they are folded down as they are different too! I'm nearly positive they will be the same colors...with exception of being from different cloth lots there may be a slight change in color do to this matter.

It's got to be an XL > Burban or vice versa swap to work
And if he wants seat heaters......Denali XL......or Esky EXV (but the leather pattern will be different)

Burban won't have 2 tone gray of the Denali, so that might look lame

oh crap...my bad...I forgot it was for a YD...yep ...seats will not match unless you swap from a yd to a yd.

He has an XL. The seats are coming from a Sub.

Seems to me that his front seats are NOT two-tone, and these chairs don't appear to be, either...

I don't think he's looking for heat in the back.

Considering these things, is the HARDWARE all there already?

Sorry but I can't state emphatically "yes it will work" from personal expierence.
