So I went to the Alameda County fair with the wifey and kids and when I got back to the Tahoe, this is what I saw on my windshield. I don't hate all cops but I do hate the loser that gave me this violation!!! I guess I should put on the front license plate.

Wow. We don't have the front plate law here in PA, so I haven't thought much about it, but I sure didn't know you could get a PARKING violation for your car sitting with no front plate. That's bad!
(Can you tell them that it was on the car when you arrived at the fair and that someone must have stolen it?! LOL)

I had no clue that they could even do that without it being a moving violation. Didn't think they could just slap a ticket on your car because of no front plate. That is like them putting tickets on cars for to dark of tint or anything else..Just never heard of that I would be pissed about that.

California laws states u must always have a front plate on your vehicle.....AT ALL TIMES. The worst part about that ticket is that it's gonna end up costing you about $100. Just about all fixed it tickets cost that much now. Sorry to hear about your bad luck

It's the same in NJ, they also give tickets if your plates are too dull and don't reflect

I feel your pain...
I dont have a front plate on my truck since Im stationed in Oklahoma and its not required...before I deployed, I took it home to Cali and I went to Iraq...then on mid tour leave half way through my deployment, I went to Cali for 3 weeks...no issues, then 2 days before I fly back to Iraq, I went to the river...came back to my truck at the end of the day to find the same ticket...those fuckers..OBVIOUSLY he saw the big red "DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - FORT SILL" sticker on my windshield where he put the ticket...
long story short, it was a good enough excuse for the police chief of Sacramento..he wrote it off for me.. was very kool of him!

Learn to spell dude.
Proper punctuation requires placing a comma after the word spell.

I have been ticketed for no front plates by San Francisco PD, Daly City PD, Oakland PD and Foster City PD. They each were above $75 if not corrected, but if the ticket gets signed off by ANY law enforcement officer as being corrected, the fine is reduced to $10. Not sure about the Sheriff's department, but might be worth checking. Good luck!

ya that sucks man i recently got a ticket for my window tint which apperently was 14% which is bullshit bc its 35% but I couldnt complain b.c he did let me off with the reckless 78 in 45 and gave me a failure to obey a traffic sign instead it was pretty nice of him so i couldnt complain

I read about that in the paper this weekend. That was chickenshit. The deputy got dispatched out there cause some dickhead was illegally parked in a handicap slot and the deputy decided since he was there he might as well make it worth his while I guess.
ps: if you put your plate on and have it signed off by a cop or deputy it shouldn't cost you any cash.

Tickets suck! (any kind)
Driving without a front plate was eventually going to get you, so slap that pointless front plate on and drive legal. Good luck with the ticket.

Now why do people think just because they are in the service or in any type of law enforcement they are above the law and should be treated different?
At least that’s one good thing about PA, they don’t require a front plate. I never saw the need for front plates on vehicles.

it wasnt the fact that I was in the service...
let me break it down for you again in case you failed to read the entire comment...
The front license plate was removed in Oklahoma...I took my truck home before I went to Iraq...I came back half way through my deployment on mid tour leave...drove my truck for 3 weeks with no issues..then 2 days before I go back to Iraq, I get a BS ticket..
who the FUCK said I was above the law? did I ever once say I was above the law?
and yea...I would expect them to be a little more leanent on me since I was going back to Iraq for another 8 months (out of my full 15) and wouldnt be driving my truck...then I had it shipped back to Oklahoma when I got back to the US...
fuckin prick..

First nice language, obviously you feel need to curse in a public forum.
Second you removed the front plate when it was still registered as a California vehicle and then drove it back to California even though you knew it was illegal. Then when you received a ticket, and blamed the officer for issuing it. You also pointed out the ticket was given two days before you go back, but as I see it you drove around for three weeks without a plate and just was lucky that no cops noticed it.
And with your commit “OBVIOUSLY he saw the big red "DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - FORT SILL" sticker on my windshield where he put the ticket..” & “and yea...I would expect them to be a little more lenient on me” you are looking for special treatment.
I just have seen this sort of stuff many times before. I also forgot about people with political ties (another big one in my area). One reason that people put any type of labels on their vehicle is to try to get preferential treatment.
Sorry I’m not a pr*ck, just a realist.

uhh...the big red sticker is regulation...aka required smart ass...I'd rather NOT clutter my vehicle and windshield with BS stickers like that if I had my choice..
and OBVIOUSLY "FORT SILL" is no where NEAR California...so he KNOWS Im from out of state even though my license plate reads California...
didnt know my bad internet language would hurt your feelings...get over it...they are just pixels in your screen...
Not one cop in 3 weeks said anything to me about my plate...but when Im GONE and PARKED, (in the front against the park sidewalk..no visible sight of the front of my truck unless walking through the park)..He decides to write some bs ticket..
Cops have a lot more to worry about then if I have a front license plate...
speeders, drunk drivers, gang violence, drugs...etc...specially in that part of town...which just happened to a nicer entrance to the river
and again..the head chief up there was very understanding of my situation at that time..
NOW...when I go back to Cali next week cuz Im getting out of the Army, Im going to have to get another front plate...and if I get a ticket then, then yes...I wouldnt complain...
but I was going back to fuckin Iraq...last thing I should have to worry about is some BS license plate ticket...not like I was doing 100mph through a neighborhood..
Thanks NC, I really appreciate your support and gratitude! :)

Here in MA, if you have the old, green plate, you may keep it forever provided it passes yearly inspection for readability, and it's rear only. But, if you have the newer red and white plate, you need two of them, no exceptions and it's enforced.
