You don't think 4.56 is a little much? I was thinking more like 4.10 but maybe that's conservative

I would go 4.10 unless you plan on running a bigger tire later on. If you have 3.73 now all you will have to change is the ring and pinion to go to 4.10 if your gonna run 4.56 you'll have to change out the whole carrier which isn't cheap.

Thanks for the input how will this effect my milage?

And I will more than likely do 4.10s because I don't plan to go any bigger

It should make your mpg a little better cuz your motor will not have to work as hard to get the vehicle rollin'....

Going to 4.10's will just make you made when it is still a turd off the line... Just sayin..
Your big azz wheels and tires weigh what 100lb's each??? Plus all the stereo stuff..
I would go ATleast 4.30's IMO

Ok....what is the end goal here?? A little getty up from stop lights or significantly better acceleration?

I'm looking for better acceleration all around, I just used the stop light thing as an example you know but I really don't want to make my mpgs any worse than they are lol, I know the heavy ass wheels isn't helpin at all

I have 4.56 with a eaton posi
I did the upgrade after my stock g80 blew out
they were on 295/35/24 for a couple months and did alright with gas mileage
then upgraded to 305/30/26 and it got better
it is such a big difference from the stock 3.73 trying to spin that big of a tire from a dead stop
do 4.56 I promise you won't regret it :)
just make sure to get a blackbear tune or equivalent so you can change your speedometer.. it will be off 15 mph

if I'm really getting on it while driving its around 11-12mpg if I am actually conservative and drive like a normal human being I average around 15-16mpg

26's have a huge rolling mass, why I say 4.56...heck, i almost chose 4.56 with 31" tall tires and 20" rims....couldnt imagine 26's.

Did any of you guys with big wheels upgrade your brakes too??
blueflamed03

I added 20's and you can feel the difference, lacking compared to stock, I would for anything over a 20" in a 2000-2006 SUV.

It's never a bad idea to upgrade your brakes. IMO, GM brakes are not the best to start with whether you put on larger rims or not.

I've never upgraded but been wanting to mut the funds isn't right for it at the moment but I've been having the same breaks for the past 2 years with 26s and haven't had any problems yet

I haven't ether with my 35's but I can see a difference from when it was stock i can feel the brakes working harder.

Oh yea no doubt I feel the difference but not bad unless I'm pulling a trailer which Ive pulled campers and car trailers everything else was smaller but I can still stop it my distance changes big time of course but it's not that bad actually

I want to upgrade my brakes but I have not
its honestly not that bad but I know it can be WAY better
I'm not going to mess around with new rotors I will just get a big brake kit
but I would definitely recommend 4.56 gears over 4.11's
big difference!
