An EGR Question

So Im going to throw on some Gibson shorties but they are non-egr compatible. How is this going to affect my engine, performance, and i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say its gonna throw a code. Does it make sence to get some EGR capable headers or is disconnecting the EGR no big deal? 2008 Tahoe btw.

Can justin at BB tune get rid of this code? There pretty expensive headers and want to throw them on asap.
